Millrock is simply amazing! The food, the staff, and the atmosphere are top-notch. You should definitely check it out as soon as possible!
It was a good find. The food was great. The main portions are very large. Keep that in mind. However, they don't take reservations, and we had to wait for 1,5h. The place was definitely overcrowded and noisy. But the host offered us tea while we were waiting. That was nice of them.
I went in with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. We began with the burrata, which was good, though nothing out of the ordinary. Next, we tried the lemon chicken and the chicken Marsala. The lemon chicken was enjoyable, but a little lacking in flavor. The Marsala, on the other hand, was exceptional—full of flavor and truly the highlight of the meal. For dessert, we had the seasonal lemon cheesecake, which was delightful and reminiscent of the cooking from my childhood. There's no salt on the tables because the dishes are meant to be enjoyed as they are. If I return to the Catskills, I will definitely stop by again.
Hmm. While this place is beloved, we had our second mediocre experience in a row. The first time the pasta was way overcooked, the second time the Alfredo was under salted. But to be honest the worst thing was the poor communication. We waited 80 minutes for a table only to find out we could have been seated inside an hour earlier (we hadn’t asked to be outdoors). Oh then there was the arrogant owner who seemed to not care less about the long wait times “whatever, they can just drink more” I overheard him tell the hostess. Sad to say we’ll go elsewhere from now on. (Band was great, though).
