I stayed at this restaurant for a night and also had dinner. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a lovely view overlooking the river. I could hear the soothing sound of the river with the window open. The dinner was excellent, with a small but high-quality menu and friendly, efficient service. Breakfast was also a treat, with a variety of choices including traditional options. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely cosy ancient pub with great service however over the last couple of years the menu has barely changed and this visit maybe the chef was having a bad day… dry over cooked fish with undercooked plain veg, no sauce.

My husband and I went here for an anniversary having seen the gluten-free options (and alternatives) available. It did not disappoint. Having flagged the restaurant that I was gluten intolerant they made a special batch of gluten-free brownies so that I could have an alternative sweet off the menu; honestly Leanne's brownies were incredible. Ben visited us throughout the meal to make sure that we enjoyed the food which was such a special experience to have the chef do. His 50/50 burger was one of a kind and the risotto was seasoned to perfection. The menu rotates on a regular basis with meals replaced every couple of weeks which allows for seasonality and also to source produce locally and having seen the historic menus on Facebook it is clear that the chef team have a fantastic grip on flavour pairings. There are at any one time around 4 mains along with a pizza menu. I cannot recommend this place enough. It's small, but doesn't feel cramped and has a great rustic feel to it. The cocktail menu is also incredible. We will definitely be going back to experience more of this food, and if the menu continues to change then it sounds like we will fast become regulars!

A fantastic family lunch for all ages from 4 to 60s. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed two lovely bottles of rose as well.

We had a very poor meal there which was poor value for what they charged. £19 for a single slice of belly of lamb which is the cheapest cut of lamb. It was also very condescending of the waitress to be told that is the portion you get as it is a gastropub.
