Was christopher geyer at The Castle Inn a mag?
A lovely homely pub with a friendly atmosphere. My nut roast was excellent but my partner's roast beef was very fatty and we had to request a replacement. I noticed that the couple on the table next to us also returned some food as undercooked. I felt that the staff weren't very attentive and constantly had to get up and request some service. Will probably try again though just to see if it was a one-off bad day. View all feedback.

Food was delicious. We had a lovely meal. Food recommended. Service was efficient. But very impersonal. Brisk and uninterested. One waiter asked for the table next to us to give a service tip, suggested 10%. Our glasses were cleared before they were finished. We were tucked away on our own so no atmosphere after the other couple had left. View all feedback.
On the way to Lydford Gorge we passed this castle and had to stop for a look._A 13th Century prison.
Well worth a visit. Highly recommend. We have just had lunch and it was the best meal we have enjoyed on our mini break in the area. The chef knows there ingredients and how to present great food full of flavour. I would happily recommend a visit. The staff were very friendly, happy to have a chat and clearly know how their trade.
Fantastic food. Staff were very friendly visited here while staying in the area with my husband. Left the pub feeling very full and satisfied, would recommend to anyone staying in the area its worth a visit
Traditional village Inn with roaring fire in the winter. Excellent quality food and super service.
Had a great dinner with some friends, fabulous food in a beautiful pub. Highly recommend it.
