Well….I was certainly not surprised tonight by my trip to this hostelry. The food was exemplary. Had very similar at other venues….but nowhere near the quality I ate tonight. Yes, they deserve all of the praise they can muster. The Chef…what a gent he was. Very knowledgable and oozing with Scottish talent. The ladies serving were very polished with excellent attention to detail….. may I be at liberty to say……very pre... View all feedback.
What rogerw263 doesn't like about Dartmoor Inn:
A most disappointing experience with the Dartmoor Inn at Merrivale. Having booked in April for a 28-30 June visit, I was unavoidably required to cancel. Aware of the booking cancellation policy of 7 days notice, my cancellation was over 8 weeks. Having requested a refund, the initial response from the Dartmoor Inn was positive, however after 4 weeks, three unanswered emails and three ignored phone messages, no refund... View all feedback.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a rustic charm that sets it apart from typical gastro pubs. The menu is simple but well-planned. The rump steaks were some of the best I've ever had. Excellent selection of pale ale. The service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place.
We only stopped by for some drinks and were greeted warmly. They have a great selection of beers. The food looked delicious, so we will definitely be returning to try it out! The restaurant is also dog-friendly, which is a plus.
I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at this restaurant, with pan-fried hake and a perfectly roasted scallop served in its shell. The skin-on chips were delicious and paired well with a pint of Atlantic Brewery red ale. I dined outside, but the interior looked clean and well-maintained. It was a refreshing change from the usual pub fare often found in the area, though a bit on the pricier side.
Beautiful food for both me and my partner, soup and salad for me and chips and a pint for her. Amazing food and lovey pub would deffo recommend and go again
Disappointing starters fine my friends had the chicken which was tough and swimming in a tasteless sauce. My husband and I had the shared sirloin which in our opinion was over priced half of it was fat.The vegetables where very nice though. On entry it was very smoky think you need more air conditioning.Overall very disappointed as it came highly recommended but sorry we will not be back.
