I made a great find, all thanks to happycow! I've driven past this place countless times, only 9 miles away from me, and never imagined it was so vegan-friendly. From the outside, it seemed like a spot where retired folks gathered. Even though there wasn't much to choose from during lunchtime, what was available was more than satisfying and we will definitely be coming back. The service was friendly and excellent, aside from the wait for the bread. The food was well-prepared, accompanied by a selection of gin tonics with plenty of ice. The beautiful Georgian building still retains most of its original features, including an open fire. I appreciated the sign outside welcoming muddy boots and dogs, but not racist uncles.
My family and I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. We all agreed that the food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and we wished we lived closer so we could come back more often! Matt provided exceptional service and was very attentive to our needs throughout the meal. It's rare to find such great customer service these days.
Different types of food! The owners are interesting, friendly, and conscientious. The atmosphere is beautiful, with a mix of old land pub style and a sustainable update. Excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Bruce Arms, and the service was excellent. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely return. The location is perfect, as we were staying at the Slenigford Windmill caravan and camping site and only had to walk across a field for about 20 minutes to reach the pub. Overall, we highly recommend the Bruce Arms for its romantic atmosphere, great value, and convenient location.
