our third visit and again very pleasant. tried the new lunch menu we enjoyed very much. is that it could also be available in the summer week? very helpful staff (as always) and sommelier team very knowledgeable. the restaurant is wheelchair accessible and well disabled in the vicinity. weather not nice enough for a walk in the gardens after lunch, but next time! What Andy Schwarz doesn't like about Shaun Rankin At Grantley Hall:
Shaun Rankin could be fabulous, but it missed its mark. The room is gorgeous and the setting could not be better. However, 3 hours and 40 minutes is too long for me to enjoy a meal. The food was creative and beautifully presented, but several of the dishes were not to my liking. I was not happy spending so much money with slow service and an unsatisfactory dinner. Very happy to have this before our doorstep. nice setting, excellent staff, thanks monica scott. eating was amazing, the great stars for me were the aal, lamb, bark tare, geese berry and the woodruff eis. ripon will have its first Michelin star restaurant very soon. thanks for an excellent evening. the amanda

Based on many happy meals at Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, I would very happily recommend for a reliably excellent Michelin Starred dining experience. The menu has a very strong foundation (based on locality) with interesting seasonal changes, and has never left me anything but satisfied and impressed in equal measure. The front of house team are excellent, and the drinks pairings highly recommended. The new soft drinks flight is one of the very best non-alcoholic pairings in starred restaurants. Grantley Hall is a lovely venue to stay for a few nights if dining at Shaun Rankin but the starred restaurant is very much the jewel in the crown that never disappoints and sets the standard for the rest of the establishment. PS More widely to Grantley Hall, the venue is 10/10, Shaun Rankin 10/10, hotel service 5/10, Afternoon Tea 6/10, Fletchers 6/10, Eight Eight 8/10, Breakfast 6/10, Spa 10/10, Spa Treatments 7/10, regular rooms 9/10, junior suites 6/10, higher suites 10/10, bar, cocktails etc 10/10.
Absolutely fantastic. The venue is spectacular, the food is exquisite and the staff are wonderful. Tom and the team in the kitchen produced an amazing tasting menu. Front of house the staff were attentive and bubbling with personality. A new venue on my list of favourites, we shall definitely return soon.
