About coffee had been recommended to me by my friend and I felt I had to pay it a visit. Unfortunately my car had broken down due to a infestation of ferrits chewing my throttle cable in half so to get there on my only day off for 6 months, I decided to ride my horse Terry and to make sure I arrived when they opened at 8am I had to set off the night before at 10.30pm. I left Batley, West Yorkshire in torrential rain and howling wind and my shoe fell off whilst Terry had become disturbed by a bin bag blowing in the wind so I was open to the elements, but after such roaring reviews I persevered through the many obstacles that I was to encounter. Not far out of Bradford at around midnight my other shoe fell off and I contracted a mild skin condition but as I said, the glowing reviews spurred me on. At Shipley I was accosted by a group of around 11 men and they demanded I gave them my hat. I couldn't argue or fight my way out of this predicament so shoeless and hatless I soldiered on through the night salivating at the thought of the fantastic caffeine rich beverages coming my way. Upon arriving in bandit country, otherwise known as Keighley, I had to make sure my wits were about me and took a short cut over the moors. Bullets were dodged and I was becoming saddle sore but hot coffee was calling from over the boarder. At this point it had got to 2am and the pair of us were cold and tired but we pressed on into the cold night. As the sun began to rise over the border into Lancashire we walked straight into a bog and Terry said he had had enough of this ridiculous, farcical and ill organised debacle and he trotted off back in the direction of Batley. So there I was, shoeless, hatless and horseless in the pooring rain but I was nearly there. I could smell the coffee wafting over the hill. Upon reaching Colne my skin condition had manifested into Vitiligo and I was struggling to walk so I crawled the rest of the way. All of a sudden I could see about coffee like a beacon of hope. I crawled through the door, battered bruised and parched and was politely informed the coffee machine was knackered and i was offered tea which I am allergic to. I turned around and went back to Batley. Picked up a coffee in Greg's instead.
Went for a walk in Colne while my wife was at boundary Mill. What a pleasant surprise to find this lovely coffee shop in what for me is a quite depressing town centre. I had a cafetiere with the choice of beans chosen by one of the staff. It was really good and made 2 decent cups. One of the few places to go in Colne.
