What David S likes about Grotta Azzurra:
This is a MUST GO restaurant every time you come to NYC. The place is an Italian old fashion style. Carlos is the nicest guy ever to make you feel at home. The food is delicious, you will not notice the difference between America and Italy, fresh ingredients. Very recommended. View all feedback. What Alena A doesn't like about Grotta Azzurra:
Not a bad place, very nice stuff, pleasant old Italian American atmosphere. However, I ordered the pasta with clams, and my clams were full of sand... It's almost okay if there's a tiny bit of sand in them, but what I got made it absolutely crunchy. Mussel soup was quite good, and the gelato was okay. And unfortunately the house wine was not great. read moreGrotta Azzura Ristorante offers a pleasant old Italian American atmosphere with kind and prompt service. While some reviewers found the food to be below average or disappointing, others highly recommended the restaurant for its delicious food and cozy ambiance. The staff was praised for being efficient, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant's rich history, with famous patrons like Frank Sinatra, adds to the charm of the dining experience. Despite mixed reviews on the food quality, overall, Grotta Azzura Ristorante seems to offer a unique and inviting dining experience in Little Italy.
