What Colleen Fadel doesn't like about Tastings Social Presents Mountain Bird:
We were disappointed to see that the menu items advertised on the website were not available. Also we made a reservation earlier this day that they were not ready. We had to wait for our table. I know things happen, but I was disappointed. I said on the reservation that we were celebrating a new job and there was no recognition by the numerous servers we seemed to be. The food is memorable as Is the staff. wish they had a bigger space.
A real gem hidden on 110th Street. Quaint ambiance, terrific food, friendly service.
Food and atmosphere was great! A great place away from the hustle and bustle of the city nestled in a quiet neighborhood.
Excellent food with some imaginative twists on classic French dishes. Really loved the flavors in the seafood carpaccio and the venison Rossini. Portions are on the small side, but the flavors are divine. Would definitely recommend. Great little date night spot in the area. Keen to come back soon. Service was attentive and friendly
My wife and I are regulars. We have have tried almost everything on the menu and our meals have never been anything less than superb. As a comparison, for an anniversary we went to a French restaurant in midtown 3x more expensive that was fancier but wasn't as good. As a bonus the owners Kenichi and Keiko are super nice people. You feel good eating there. Now for the food. Parts of the menu change seasonally so you'll have to check the menu but the cassoulet, the duck (any of them), the venison, and the pig knuckle are exceptional. For starters its hard not to get the ostrich tartare with foie gra, it's an act of will. Finally, for dessert the fig toffee pudding cake could make you forget chocolate, happily they put some chocolate sprinkles on so you won't.
