Popped in to avoid the rain and was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful inside and good was amazing. I got the Mac and Cheese Croquettes and Caesar Salad. Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Been frequenting the Temperance for years. Sadly today I waited 30 min for a burger, approached them to get it packed takeaway as our lunch break was nearly over; only to be told there was a glitch and they’d need another 10 min. Working in hospitality for 15 years I get that mistakes happen but guys not a busy lunch, somebody clearly missing food from a table shouldn’t need the customer chasing you up. Looking forward to visiting again as mistakes happen.
The Temperance Hotel is a beautiful looking venue, with well-maintained heritage on the outside and nicely designed modern finishes on the inside. The parma is pretty good; nice and crunchy, with bacon and pecorino for an extra punch of flavour. There are plenty of TVs positioned around the bar, so this venue is perfect for watching sports in comfort. Price per person: $40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We headed to Temperance for a birthday which was conveniently reachable my public transport post work. It’s on the nicer scale of pubs and the menu covers classics like parmas and pizzas items but also some interesting dishes with an international influence like tandoori prawns skewers and steamed bao buns. My friend was also pleased to see variety of salads (I was going to town on calories that day). Many in the group took up the $15 steak and pot offer and they have such deals every weeknight which makes for a cheap meal. I really enjoyed the food and modern fit out of the space. It had quite a summery vibe and I can see how it would be the perfect location for a lazy Sunday session. Good find
We arrived to the fireplace going which was a welcome delight to escape the cold Melbourne day! Food is your typical pub food, well priced and a decent size. I ordered the fish tacos amazing! I could have those again! My friend had the mushroom pizza so so good. We shared the croquettes but they lacked seasoning, easy to fix though!
