What John A doesn't like about Convenience West:
My wife and I were visiting the area and saw the great reviews for this place, so here is my honest opinion. The brisket ribs were amazing, as well as the appetizer called Hot/Sweet and the homemade pickles. However, the beans and corn side dishes were just okay. The most disappointing aspect, and it wasn't the only one, was the display of the trans flag in front of the business. Business owners, if you believe this... View all feedback.
God! Everything was absolutely phenomenal. Brisket was soft and damp and the ribs had a delicious and beautiful layer of spices on top. The Bbq sauce was YUMMY! All sides were so unique and tasteful. We have the broccoli salad, sweet potato salad and the corn salad. They added such a beautiful freshness together with the meat. The PICKLES!!! Omg. I should have ordered more. We arrived at a Friday night at 6:00 and there was no waiting time. Plenty of space outdoors and cool vibes.
Make sure to make a U-turn at the west end of Holland Avenue if you have never been to Convenience West BBQ. Luckily, we were able to get a special, locally grown, grilled mushroom sandwich with Brisket, a large poblano/cheddar beef link and many pages! All were excellent, like the friendly service.
Marfa is not the easiest place to get to, unless you live there, but this bbq joint is worth the drive. If you didn't know Tx. had mountains then it's a scenic drive. These guys are doing it right, with some great brisket, sausage and burnt ends. The trip is worth the dining experience at the end. This is some dang good bbq. Go see the Marfa lights and plan a stop at Convenience West. You won't be disappointed.
Brisket was moist, perfectly cooked and cut into generous slices. The sauce had the perfect level of spices. The Brisket Boudin sausage had a great balance of aromas and texture. The homemade cucumbers and onions were delicious and the sides sweet potato salad, garlic green beans and the carrot dive were good to enjoy. The weather was crisp and cool, so we ate at one of the outdoor tables and loved how everything was arranged so delicious on Treys. It is clear that the owner is enormously talented and ensures an unforgettable BBQ experience in Marfa. Very recommended!
Delicious BBQ and great service! We went during the spring break, and the food was great. The brisket was really good, and the whole beef-peaceurst was kind. If you like Pickles, ask for the additional page order... The pickles are here! Convenience West is listed in Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ list and lives until ranking. Definitely plan to stop here when you visit West Texas/Marfa. I think it's only open Friday and Saturday evenings! There is no indoor food, you will park in the line, order food on the front. Picnic tables are out! The BBQ was worth waiting!
