Was Anonym at The Scolt Head a mag?
The menu is frequently revised always imaginatively and the variety of the offer often contains some surprises (good ones Love the bars and atmosphere. It has become the regular destination for a group of six of us living in all corners of this immediate north East London area. A fabulous hq as it were. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about The Scolt Head:
Used to be one of my favourite pubs in De Bouvoir because the house and garden are beautiful. Unfortunately the staff that tends now seem to think that it is cool to be rude to customers. If you don’t like dealing with people or being asked to look up from your phone to take our order or bring the card machine THEN DONT WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. Harrowing treatment of staff. The Scolt Head has the most rude miserable staff of any establishment I've ever been to, and I've lived in Paris. My friend had her birthday there and the staff were so rude to pretty much everyone in the group, it almost seemed like a wind up. I bought a bottle of house white wine at the bar and after I'd paid I realised she'd forgotten to give me wine glasses. Obviously just a mistake, I patiently waited to catch her eye to ask for a glass but she seemed to not see me for some time. After serving others, she finally caught my eye so I asked nicely for a wine glass and she snarled at me like I'd asked for her kidney and angrily banged the glass down on the bar with no apology or acknowledgment. The people I was with were astonished. It was like she hated me yet I'd never met her before in my life.Anyway, there was only one friendly person behind the bar (early on in the evening), and three very surly rude ones. Not worth risking going there again. Definitely don't go for a birthday unless you're a masochist and enjoy being treated like the scum on the scum of the bar person's shoe.Nice decor though.

I hired the back room for my birthday. The decor is great paintings of dogs, bunting and a glitter ball. When I arrived they had lit candles on the tables it looked pretty. I had ordered party food. We had mini burgers, fritters, kofta etc. Everyone commented that the food was great. The staff friendly and relaxed. We had a lot of fun.

What a lovely spot! The Scolt Head is gorgeous inside, but also has a amazing beer garden. Surrounded by a hedge it's the most relaxing place to meet your friends for a drink, or have a nice lunch of diner. The food was delicious and the staff friendly, i'll definitely be back soon.

I have been a loyal patron of this pub for many years, even though it is no longer my local. However, my recent visit left me disappointed not because of the pub itself or its offerings, but because of the staff. Despite their website stating they are open until midnight seven days a week, they began closing up at 10:30 pm on a busy Wednesday night. They were rushing customers out, loudly announcing that everyone needed to leave by 11 pm, and were disruptive in their cleaning efforts. When questioned, they claimed they always close at 10:30 and give an extra 30 minutes to finish drinks. This was not my experience in the past. One staff member even mentioned they were closing early because they had a long day. It makes me question if the website is inaccurate or if the staff simply wanted to leave early. I will give them another chance, but if this happens again, I will no longer frequent this establishment. The management should be aware of how their staff are behaving when they are not present.

I have visited this restaurant multiple times, and despite their ever-changing menu, the kitchen consistently delivers delicious and well-prepared dishes. The staff is generally very friendly. If you are looking for the classic ambiance of a neighborhood pub with a simple yet excellent kitchen for dinner or Sunday Roast, this is a great choice. The only downside is the limited beer selection; they could benefit from offering a few guest cask ales and draft beers.

A really good place ..great vibe , food and local beers Took one star off due to the fact that one had to go into the beer garden which really is very beautiful...secluded from the ravages of Islington/Hackney) to get away from the level of music played inside the pub. Can't ever get my head around why playing the volume at 11' is the establishment's way of thinking that this is the perfect environment Fortunately the weather was not too cold ...but really guys ..? If you play the music at 6 or 7 ...people will still come....you might even get more people frequenting the pub.... Try it-no?

I had the pork Sunday roast and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. All in all, the roast was okay. Unfortunately, it's a little bland for my taste. A little salt and pepper helped a long way. What I couldn’t change was the temperature. Upon arrival, my plate was quite cold. I saw the steam coming from my food, so surely the food wouldn’t be cold. The meat and some veggies were warm, but the whole dish quickly became cold. The potatoes were cold and dry, too. I wholeheartedly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. It was very delicious and not too sweet. The plate and the dessert were pleasantly warm. The service was fantastic, all around a pleasant crew.

Our first night in London was an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I found the noise level was a bit high, but it didn't bother us as it's a pub after all. It's supposed to be lively, otherwise it wouldn't be a very fun place. LOL.

Came from Chicago, US for Sunday roast. Exceeded all our expectations. We had the two vegetarian options and both were wonderful. Beer selection was great and everyone was very welcoming.

Roast potatoes were a big disappointment- like they’d been sat there for hours. A real shame as roasts are normally good at Scolt’s

A Nice quiet pub, food a little expensive, chips a little crispy (overcooked) but the fish was nice. Make sure you don’t leave going to the toilet for the last minute as you have to physically squeeze past a piano to get through the door. Welcoming Price per person: £20–30 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Went on a warm Saturday afternoon easy going, relaxed pub with an outdoor space which feels quite intimate despite being on the corner of the street. Food and drinks selection was good too. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

While I have had my eye on the Scolt head for a while, I was disappointed when I finally went. Unnecessarily busy, including outdoor space. The customer demographic is a big more edgey and less enjoyable. I’d sooner go to the talbot up the road. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: £1–10
