The menu is frequently revised always imaginatively and the variety of the offer often contains some surprises (good ones Love the bars and atmosphere. It has become the regular destination for a group of six of us living in all corners of this immediate north East London area. A fabulous hq as it were. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about The Scolt Head:
Used to be one of my favourite pubs in De Bouvoir because the house and garden are beautiful. Unfortunately the staff that tends now seem to think that it is cool to be rude to customers. If you donât like dealing with people or being asked to look up from your phone to take our order or bring the card machine THEN DONT WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. Harrowing treatment of staff. Is a lovely pub but the staff was terrible! Look like they don’t care about the job, I ask some questions about the food they don’t know how to answer. There were four tables free one with a reserved sign, we took the nit reserve and a guy came and told us all was reserved and the people were arriving in 5 minutes, funny two hours was passed and no one came to sit at those tables. The food was alright, I m sure they can heat up more. The only table we sit on was like being without cleaning for days! Yellow stains all over! But the problem was the staff look like they didn’t care about serving.
This place caught my eye whilst driving past as the outdoor area looked lovely and full of revellers. I visited for a Sunday lunch, whilst the ambience was amazing and I had the loveliest time with my friends, the beef roast was very average. The meat was very chewy and lacked flavour entirely. The treamings were not cooked very consistently. I would most certaintly revisit for drinks but I would not order food. The ambience retained stars.
Left before we ordered. Walked through a crowded garden with people sitting and standing into the pub to look for our table. Asked at bar where our table was and shown to one with with two people already on it. They did leave. Table was then not cleaned after they left and was sticky and dirty. Did look at menu. Looked good but when I looked around the room it was full of people standing drinking and in big groups sitting on chairs with no tables in the room we were in, everything was dirty including the floor. When shown to table told “you have to order at bar” (which was packed) .. “a hello how are you?”might have been a better first impression. Decided not to stay. Recommendations: do not advertise one of your inside back rooms as a place to eat/restaurant on OpenTable when it’s not as when I walked out I saw you did have another restaurant room on the other side of the bar, clean table surfaces between sittings, sweep the floor, check your paper menus are clean, and take orders at the table when people book for food. Not surprised I had a call that my table for a previous weekend was cancelled as you had to close the pub as one of your staff had Covid.
Myself and my colleagues became regulars here for a couple of weeks in November whilst working locally. the pub is full of character with some quirky decorations. the staff were friendly and welcoming. the food was excellent, particularly the chicken schnitzel. the estrella glacier was fantastic. will definitely be returning when we next work in the area.
You can eat here, hangout , drink and watch the football. It's a semi bank street pub. Has a nice beer garden for the summer Good choice of beers and ales. Nice looking people. Recommend

The scolt head seems typical of a local North London fan – it is the self-proclaimed “De Beauvoir’s local” and could be almost an old village pub in surrey. wooden masters who welcome the bar staff as friends, traditional British cuisine, the sun
Had a fab Sunday evening dinner in a good old fashion pub. highly recommended. roast spuds to die!
Beautiful pub, one of the best Sunday roasts I ever had. with lamb, but the bark was also good!
Solid cooking, more reliable place for good Sunday dinner at around £25 ph. can be busy, best book in advance
A really good place ..great vibe , food and local beers Took one star off due to the fact that one had to go into the beer garden which really is very beautiful...secluded from the ravages of Islington/Hackney) to get away from the level of music played inside the pub. Can't ever get my head around why playing the volume at 11' is the establishment's way of thinking that this is the perfect environment Fortunately the weather was not too cold ...but really guys ..? If you play the music at 6 or 7 ...people will still come....you might even get more people frequenting the pub.... Try it-no?

The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
Came from Chicago, US for Sunday roast. Exceeded all our expectations. We had the two vegetarian options and both were wonderful. Beer selection was great and everyone was very welcoming.
Lovely staff and atmosphere (food was great as well)
Roast potatoes were a big disappointment- like they’d been sat there for hours. A real shame as roasts are normally good at Scolt’s
Had an excellent Mother's Day meal at this restaurant! The roast dishes are definitely the best in de Beauvoir.

A Nice quiet pub, food a little expensive, chips a little crispy (overcooked) but the fish was nice. Make sure you don’t leave going to the toilet for the last minute as you have to physically squeeze past a piano to get through the door. Welcoming Price per person: £20–30 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Went on a warm Saturday afternoon easy going, relaxed pub with an outdoor space which feels quite intimate despite being on the corner of the street. Food and drinks selection was good too. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
While I have had my eye on the Scolt head for a while, I was disappointed when I finally went. Unnecessarily busy, including outdoor space. The customer demographic is a big more edgey and less enjoyable. I’d sooner go to the talbot up the road. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: £1–10
