Despite being told there was no fish left, I was made to wait for 20 minutes while other customers were served. The server was engaged in a loud discussion about the chips with a regular customer, ignoring me in the process. Eventually, I was informed that there were no fish or battered sausages left, and I had to settle for a cold ‘Jumbo Sausage’ that had been sitting there for 20 minutes. The portion of chips was meagre and the overall experience was uncomfortable due to the server's reluctance.

Also, previous experience in the... read more Normally I shun fish and chips. I reckon it's due to my upbringing and culture, where we prefer and eat way more grilled fish. Also, previous experience in the canteen at work have done little to improve my prejudice. Faulkner's has showed me you can actually have really good fish and chips, with a haddock or cod fillet that tastes like real fish does, and chips with potato in them. Well done, Faulkner's, count me as a customer.

Their cheesecake is a delightful treat, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. If you're a fan of cheese, you definitely need to try these amazing dishes.

Though the place did not boast of a very high rating, there was something about this family run restaurant that was welcoming. The decor was simple but comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Tempura Shrimps, fried Cod with chips and Spinach and cheese gozleme, which was recommended by our host. Each item was delicious and the portions were hearty! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this eatery to other Tripadvisor members!

Chips were crispy outside and fluffy within the Haddock batter was beautifully thin and crispy and the fish you couldn't get any fresher if you went to Billingsgate. We enjoyed 2 gorgeous cold beers too. The servers were attentive and exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. I mentioned I liked the hand wipes given after the meal and on our way out I was given several complimentary. Don't waste any time, get yourself down there sharpish. Perfection!
