This is one of the finest fish restaurants you will find in London. The fish is always fresh the chips are fresh (never frozen ones) and the fish just melts in your mouth and is always pure white (the sign that the fish is fresh), service is great the only thing here is where this restaurant is located but once inside its gorgeous you will leave pretty full up. What dickinsc dislikes about Faulkners:
You can just tell by walking past that Faulkners once had a heyday. Big matching balcony shades to 3 levels and large restaurant area with fish tank. It looks kind of nice in an 80s way but based on my last three visits its been getting progressively worse, I love fish and chips and I want it to be good, but it just isn't. Been here twice for takeaway. Indifferent service and a disproportionately long wait. Won’t come again.
The service at this restaurant was indifferent and apathetic. Despite being told there was no fish left, I was made to wait for 20 minutes while other customers were served. The server was engaged in a loud discussion about the chips with a regular customer, ignoring me in the process. Eventually, I was informed that there were no fish or battered sausages left, and I had to settle for a cold ‘Jumbo Sausage’ that had been sitting there for 20 minutes. The portion of chips was meagre and the overall experience was uncomfortable due to the server's reluctance.
Went there for a lunch, took a classic fish and chips. The quality of the food is low, you can taste that everything was frozen and not fresh, even chips. Fish was over-fried and oily. Chips tasted like they were old. Not impressed at all.
Excellent Service from Laura, a local girl with east end humour and chat. Nice freshly cooked fish and chips, good value lunch time menu.
Ordered a take away and ordered a bread roll or so I thought On delivery I found a burger bun without any butter at a cost of £1:25!!! Will not be ordering again at that price

Came here to get a quick lunch on the go but they took ages to cook it! Food wasn’t very good at all and also gave me a belly ache.. not worth it.
Karaoke was great we had a great time with The DJ Sexydexy (great singer) the food was delicious thank you chef we will return end of the month
I absolutely love the cheese gozleme and cheesecake at this place. The cheese gozleme is made with warm, flaky pastry and melted cheese that's incredibly tasty. It's irresistible! Their cheesecake is a delightful treat, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. If you're a fan of cheese, you definitely need to try these amazing dishes.
We were staying in Dalston and were looking for a good place to enjoy a good Fish Chips Meal we stumbled upon this restaurant, which happened to be a short walk away from our place. Though the place did not boast of a very high rating, there was something about this family run restaurant that was welcoming. The decor was simple but comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Tempura Shrimps, fried Cod with chips and Spinach and cheese gozleme, which was recommended by our host. Each item was delicious and the portions were hearty! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this eatery to other Tripadvisor members!
I have been to many fish and chip restaurants and hands down this is the best. Chips were crispy outside and fluffy within the Haddock batter was beautifully thin and crispy and the fish you couldn't get any fresher if you went to Billingsgate. We enjoyed 2 gorgeous cold beers too. The servers were attentive and exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. I mentioned I liked the hand wipes given after the meal and on our way out I was given several complimentary. Don't waste any time, get yourself down there sharpish. Perfection!

I wanted to revive faulkners on Tuesday. like the new decor and the food was excellent and portioning enormous. good drink selection anime the environmentally friendly try.

Normally I shun fish and chips. I reckon it's due to my upbringing and culture, where we prefer and eat way more grilled fish. Also, previous experience in the canteen at work have done little to improve my prejudice. Faulkner's has showed me you can actually have really good fish and chips, with a haddock or cod fillet that tastes like real fish does, and chips with potato in them. Well done, Faulkner's, count me as a customer.
First time here in years wow what can I say his just gorgeous! eating, personal and cocktails all are perfect soon back x
Best chippy in town. Crispy batter, smooth fish and crunchy chips. I hate oily fish and chips and, in this place it is absolutely delicious, not greasy at all and still tasty. Lovely staff and very clean. Thumbs up!
