Was EFFYD56 at Bread Butter a mag?
Popped in looking for brunch and a coffee and we were not disappointed. The place had a lovely atmosphere and plenty of space for people to work away on their laptops. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when we were too indecisive when it came to ordering and let us mix and match a little from the menu. Would highly recommend the feta and avocado on sourdough and the halloumi wrap. Will defini... View all feedback.
What Simon L dislikes about Bread Butter:
Bread and Butter is a lovely place but is has been closed since the end of March. A sign in the window says it would be shut just for April, for renovation But there is no sign any work going on and I fear it is shut for good View all feedback.

The best café in East London! Fantastic food and wonderful staff. I absolutely love it and will definitely come back.
Visited on 11th August 2016.....twice; breakfast and late lunch while visiting my son, who conveniently lives next door. Best eggs benedict ive had in a very long time. Fab setting and wonderfully friendly service.
I wanted to take a moment to leave a review and express my gratitude. I've been coming to this restaurant for nearly three years now, almost every day, and I've really gotten to know the staff. I always recommend it to all the creative offices in East London for its quality food and excellent service. It's a fantastic spot, and the staff truly become your friends. The more you visit, the more you'll love it. Thank you! - Brot
This place is fantastic! Fantastic food, lovely staff, great coffee, brilliant atmosphere. A perfect neighbourhood restaurant!
Bread and Butter Café is a trendy spot favored by the younger crowd for brunch and working. While the atmosphere is generally inviting and the food menu diverse—with highlights like feta and avocado on sourdough and delicious home-baked goods—service has reportedly declined. Many customers note long wait times and difficulty getting staff attention amidst the bustling scene. Despite the occasionally bitter coffee and overpriced breakfast options, the dedication of the friendly staff shines through. However, concerns have been raised regarding staff treatment and working conditions. Overall, it remains a popular choice, though improvements are necessary for a better experience.

Small little gem! Very reasonable priced, quick, friendly service and most importantly amazing coffee!
Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday. Lovely community cafe where we can have a nice quiet meeting, get some great breakfast and service with a smile.
The food at the cafe was really bad. I ordered a halloumi salad which was just some salad leaves and really rubbery halloumi, eating it was like trying to get through plimsoles. My girlfiend ordered a mozarella sandwich which was equally decrepit; on picking it up it limply fell apart and revealed mozarrella cheese that was white and perfectly flat. I've never seen mozarella like this before, even the mozarella you get in Lidl is fleshy and milky this mozarella at Bread Butter was hard and rigid like a diving board. We didn't eat the sandwich and took it home and grilled the mozarella on the bread it tasted like plastic so we through it away. Stay away from this cafe! Save yourslef paying for over priced food and a painful interaction with highfalutin and vacant staff. The worst cafe i've been to in east!

When the waitress gave me the plate, it was so hot that I burned my finger. Very bad service! The Food was ok.
4 of us popped into this café for lunch today and had lovely sandwiches served by very friendly staff. .The goats cheese wrap was delicious and the cakes were equally good. They have seating outside on a sunny day. Highly recommended!
This trendy local restaurant is popular among the younger crowd for hanging out, studying, and working. Unfortunately, the service was lacking as I had to search for butter for my dry breakfast sandwich on my own. The coffee was extremely bitter and no solution was provided by the staff. The basic breakfast options were overpriced.
I have visited this restaurant several times because they are one of the few lunch options in Haggerston. Previously, the service was terrible until the place was taken over by the same owners as Cafe Z, known for their great customer service. The quality of service here can be inconsistent - sometimes it is excellent when the Cafe Z staff are working, but today it was extremely poor. The cashier seemed disinterested and did not split the bill as requested. There was a lack of gratitude throughout our visit. Hopefully, a new dining option will open in Haggerston soon as my colleagues and I are no longer willing to return due to the consistently poor service.
I am not one to write reviews as I am extremely picky so when I do, I promise, it is worth checking out!! I was happily surprised to be cheerfully greeted as I walked into this lovely atmosphere of a coffee shop! The vibe was super chilled and the staff very friendly. In particular Oriana (hope to be writing this correctly) who prepared the best cappuccino I have ever consumed. I am not a coffee drinker really, but as most of us, I NEED it in order to function. It is difficult for me to truly enjoy the taste of coffee, but I went for seconds so well done Ms barista! For lunch I had a falafel vegan wrap which was amazing, so good that I didn't even notice it was vegan! and a pistachio cake which was also delicious. The ambiance was very work alike, the customers were mostly on their laptops or reading. Their playlist is strictly bossa nova and jazz, perfect for an intellectual like myself! I thoroughly enjoyed working there and the place inspired me so much that I had a lovely productive day. The menu is great with a variety of natural juices and healthy options and the massive bonus is that they sell Karma cola!! Definitely worth a visit!
