What User doesn't like about Jenners Main:
What extortionate prices they charge for a basic soup or sandwich let alone their mediocre main dishes. Many days they are sold out too of your first choice. It's not nearly so busy as it used to be they seem to be cutting back on staff food which is causing major problems at busy lunch times. It's a place that I will never return to. View all feedback.
Beautiful and spacious cursed from the hectic of prinzen st. food is not cheap, but there is something for everyone.

We were staying A few doors away and this is a much cheaper option to the hotel the cook d breakfast was pretty good at about 7 plus coffee However my wife’s avocado on toast with poached egg was a disaster the avocado had been refrigerated after being covered in lime and was very chilled and tasteless not worth the money So this is a mixed review the moral is always eat what the locals know how to cook
We stopped in here for coffee and cake this afternoon and were not disappointed by our choice. It is a lovely airy restaurant with well placed tables. The table we wanted had not been cleared but was promptly cleaned by one of the staff. Coffee and cake were delicious. I will certainly make this a stop whenever I am in Edinburgh in future.
I never. ever complain, and rarely judge on one visit yet feel strongly compelled to advise anyone not to eat here. Winging it based on a stores reputation is one thing but at least try and serve an edible meal. The meat, cold, tasteless pork covered in sodden fat, no crisp or crackling. Jar apple mush, minging gravy that bisto would put to shame and a frozen cold yorkshire pudding! Ive eaten in many street restraunts that cost half the price that absolutely outshine this kind of quality. Service and atmosphere are typically posh cafe which is fine, the staff are nice but nope probably one of the worst tasting meals ive ever been served.
