What Bonappetit mom likes about Cumberland:
Pleasant food and very friendly helpful staff. Restaurant lighting quite dim but we were able to get a table near the kitchen which was brighter. Able to linger without being hurried along. Special menu well priced with a nice house wine and we would definately go again. View all feedback. What fussyfoodie doesn't like about Cumberland:
Having eaten at the brasserie before and enjoyed it I was pleased to find availability on NYE. We ate early evening (7:30) but there was still a good number of diners and a good atmosphere. The food was very good, the service ok and it came to £45 a head for 2 courses and drinks (including cocktails) so pretty good value. View all feedback.

read moreThe restaurant was a disappointment with overpriced roast dinner lacking traditional elements and lackluster ambiance. The brasserie-like establishment served subpar food resembling a pub menu. The current carvery failed to impress, falling short of the former Sunday lunch offer. Another review criticized the lack of bar stools for socializing, highlighting the importance of bar seating for meeting new people. Positive reviews praised the establishment for excellent food, service, and great for functions, as well as a fun gin masterclass experience. Overall, a mixed bag with some positive and negative aspects for this local pub.
