Reviews - Chez Frederic
Reviews summary
The restaurant received mixed reviews from customers. Some praised the food, with standout dishes like the braised lamb and ravioli receiving high praise. The service was also noted to be polite and accommodating, with staff going the extra mile in some cases. However, there were complaints about the long wait times for food, forgetful staff, and issues with noise levels in the restaurant. Some also found the prices to be high for the quality of food received. Overall, the restaurant seems to have potential with its interesting menu and cozy ambiance, but improvements in service efficiency and noise control could enhance the dining experience for customers.

Loved it. It's got a laid back vibe, industrial kind of feel, some diy feels, which must help keep it affordable. It's not a large restaurant and it's popular, so it pays to book.We went as guests of a huge Chez fan, she loves the marinara and it didn't disappoint. All our meals were lovely, service was friendly and we'd be happy to return to try some other dishes. View all feedback.
What Jess the Blessed dislikes about Chez Frederic:
Food was a bit inconsistent and lacking flavour. The cheese bread was good, but pasta was disappointing with no sauce on the special, and ravioli unevenly cooked with pieces still thick/chewy in areas. View all feedback.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner featuring delicious gluten-free pasta and a variety of other menu choices.
I haven't enjoyed ravioli this delicious in a long time, especially since my diagnosis. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Hand made gf ravioli and spaghetti pasta! The restaurant was very accommodating and aware of allergies. The food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend all foodies to try.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, with both the service and the food being top-notch. The staff were well-informed about coeliac disease, allowing me to enjoy a safe meal. I ordered the carbonara, and it was fantastic. The gluten-free pasta was so delicious that I couldn’t believe it was gluten-free. When I confirmed with the waitstaff, they confidently assured me that my dish was indeed gluten-free.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The staff is truly passionate about preparing delicious and safe gluten-free dishes, taking special care to separate preparation and cooking areas. The gluten-free pasta they serve is fantastic—both my partner, who has celiac disease, and I, who am gluten intolerant, believe it’s the best in town. I highly recommend this place, and we find ourselves returning regularly.
The most incredible pasta… to die for!! The guy Joey makes the gluten free pastas and boy am I grateful! Eaten here many times and always incredible! Lucky to have this place

This restaurant is incredible! The gluten free ravioli is the best I've ever tasted. The service was also excellent. I will definitely be returning!
The food was delicious. The service was very friendly but inconsistent. It seemed like there weren't enough waiters working, but we understood the difficulties in finding them. We will definitely return, but perhaps not on a Saturday night.
We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited over an hour for our food, but after only receiving our drinks and garlic bread (which was just okay), we had to leave due to hunger. There was no communication about the long wait times, and it seemed like many other diners were also frustrated. It was evident that the restaurant was understaffed and couldn't handle the demand. Unfortunately, we won't be returning in the future.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Casual laid back ambience. Delicious food. Arincini balls were delicious. Pastas too. 2nd visit by our group. And we'll definitely go again

Very tasty pasta dishes and the lamb and barley? Dish was fantastic Service was very average and tables not very comfortable Probably better for takeaway as the food was very good
We ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and the balsamic roast veg to take home after a long day. Got enough for the 2 of us for maybe 3 meals! Super good value, the biodegradable cardboard containers didn't fare so well on the walk home, but that's OK. The sauce was really nice, lots of meat, and the veg had just the right amount of balsamic.
Our first time to Chez F. A comfortable but basic setting uplifted by the staff; totally attentive without hovering, engaging and knowledgeable. We like that. The food; linguine and lamb on this visit was very good and the portions were rather large. Totally value for money. We will be going again.

What a great place to eat. The bruschetta and chilli jam chicken meatballs were delicious and reasonably priced. Topped off with a nice glass of local red! We will be back!
The food was very fresh and there are some very interesting turns to traditional favorites
Covid update: went back on 22 August. Marinara pasta still awesome, the cheese bread was not as good and the carbonara had suffered as well. Still a 5 star rating given the marinara pasta, great wines and service. This was our second trip to chez Frederic. We love the four cheese bread, the seafood marinara pasta and the temparinallo wine. The lasagne was very hearty and the carbonara is sublime, but nothing compares to the generosity, freshness and great (spicy) flavours of the marinara. Serving sizes are huge and wine pours are generous.
