The service was very friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. At $55 for two courses, it’s a great value. However, I felt the appetizer portion could have been larger. View all feedback.
What Jason Murphy dislikes about Braddon Merchant:
We ate dinner here, a la carte. Some lovely dishes at fair prices and good service(one dish we hated and they struck it from the bill). Place was pretty dead for a Saturday night though. One other table with a couple and another table with a guy reading a book. The bar at the other end of the lobby looked like it would have been a better choice for atmosphere. Also it was cold inside and I had to put my puffer jacket... View all feedback.

Delicious friday lunch for two. Had several of the smaller plates. Beautiful flavours, nice ingredients. The eggplbt kinchi and vanella mozzarella were delicious, peppers with tahino delicious but Hot! Very nice wine list. Nice decor, well set up so don’t really notice the sunken location below street level. No drafts! Super enjoyable food. Reasonable prices.
While I found the booking experience online somewhat frustrating, especially trying to locate a menu for Christmas lunch, the experience on the day was superb. Too much delicious food, very attentive and friendly staff. Lovely extra (cocktail to take away and free photograph of group). The three of us enjoyed the day immensely and on top of everything caught up with friends, unexpectedly, that I hadn’t seen in 15 years. They also said they had a fabulous day.

As for wheelchair accessibility, there's a ramp leading into the building, and the tables are at a suitable height for wheelchair users. There are three accessible restrooms, at least one of which is spacious enough to accommodate a wheelchair. For dinner, the price per person ranges from A$40 to A$60.
For our appetizer, we enjoyed warm olives paired with charred sourdough. With the staff's recommendations, we shared several small plates: the salmon with crème fraîche, eggplant with buffalo yogurt, and mussels with samphire. Each dish was exceptional, making it impossible to choose a favorite. For dessert, we indulged in a shared chocolate mousse topped with macadamia nuts and toasted coconut flakes, as well as a cheese platter featuring homemade lavash and honeycomb. Every plate was left spotless. To top off the evening, they kindly validated our parking ticket, which meant complimentary parking! Unfortunately, we didn’t take any photos since we were too busy savoring our meal.
We started with oysters, which were absolutely divine. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their main courses of mussels and baked pumpkin. However, I found the red snapper a bit dry and wasn't a fan of the cabbage. On the bright side, the chocolate mousse for dessert was a delightful treat. Overall, I would definitely return in the future.

Also it was cold inside and I had to put my puffer jacket on. There's no door between the restaurant and the front door of the hotel and when people came and went it got pretty chilly. Not a big deal but over a couple of hours a bit uncomfortable. Overall not a bad place, especially if you bring your own good vibes and remember to dress warm.
Current promo for hotel guests: All large plates A$25. Also this month, free dessert to celebrate the restaurant 's 'birthday '. Had the lamb chops (A$43) for only A$25. Delicious food. Friendly, warm customer service. I 'll be back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our party of three enjoyed our meal at Braddon Merchant. Each dish was fresh and flavoursome; we shared three entrees and three mains. The wine list expansive was stocked with excellent wines at a healthy range of price points. We'd definitely come back!
Dining solo while staying at the Midnight Hotel, thought I’d avail myself of their in house restaurant after having had an excellent coffee breakfast there. I was most impressed extensive wine list, expert recommendations, attentive service superb menu choices! Chose the 2 course option with additional oysters as an entree. Fresh fabulous cuisine all round. Will definitely be bringing family back to join the fun!
We have always enjoyed the previous arrangement where one could order a two or three course meal for a set price. We found the change to the menu disappointing. However, there were plenty of options and those that we chose we enjoyed. The service was excellent in some regards, and poor in others. One waitperson leaned across in front of other diners to place a plate on the table. This is a basic flaw that should not occur. This person was also perfunctory when asking about any allergies. This is a pity as I have been served by them before and found them very pleasant and helpful. The other two waiters were very diligent. Another glitch was rectified quickly when our salad did not arrive. The seating outside was lovely. This was the first occasion on which we had the option of doing so, it would be good to have this option clear when booking. Braddon Merchant remains on my list of restaurants that I am happy to return to.
Great food and even better service. Thanks Braddon Merchant for a great Christmas lunch.
The wine and food experiences are simply wonderful. We may not love all wines (1 or 2 maybe not to our palate), but the food is exceptional (thanks to Amit)... it is always MAGNIFICENT like the service. In our humble opinion, you can't go wrong with Braddon Merchant, nor at the Midnight Bar. Just perfect!
