The Three Crowns - West Devon
The Three Crowns
Description
The Three Crowns, located at the corner of Stoke Newington High Street and Church Street, offers a welcoming atmosphere with a good selection of seating options. The pub features a large bar that ensures fast and friendly service. The roast is highly recommended, with enormous portions that leave everyone satisfied. However, some recent changes, such as a new meat supplier, have disappointed customers. The new management has made improvements in service, although the menu could use more variety. Despite some shortcomings, the Three Crowns provides a cozy setting and excellent staff, making it a great spot for a casual weekend visit.

I remember this place when if you got too drunk they just threw you in the dock outside, and it was full of characters, now its just full of loud mouthed
In the hearth of the village, facing the church yard, this building has it all. Charm, style, tradition and elegance. We didn't stay here today but booked in for lunch. The restaurant is extensive. The traditional entrance area by a huge stone fire place and the bar. We could have chosen the conservatory section, light and inviting. I must admit that our experience here started with the phone call, Georgia (the manager) was kind and professional and understanding. But also the girls at the bar. Professionally run Atmospheric gastro pub. The lamb pie was delicious out together busting in flavors. The curry was just a thought of heat but decorated with dry chilies. Perfect match.
Perfect weekend getaway. Lovely location, tasty food with good service. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet
We were delighted to revisit this pub, and it was pleasantly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime. My partner initially ordered hake with chowder, but ended up preferring my monkfish curry when it arrived. I was more than happy to switch, as I have never been a fan of monkfish and found the hake to look quite succulent (despite her not touching it). We swapped plates, and I was immediately pleased with the exchange. The fish was indeed succulent with a slight crispness to the skin. The chowder was delicious, especially with a bit of pepper. I would definitely order it again if given the chance tomorrow.
