I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this ice cream shop in a quaint village. The ice cream was delicious, rich, and creamy, with the hazelnut flavor being a standout. A visit to this place in Chagford is a must.

The ice cream was possibly the best we had on our entire 3... read more We only went in for ice cream and cheese, but they were good indicators of the quality of this place. The ice cream was possibly the best we had on our entire 3-week trip - dense and well-flavored. I prefer traditional flavors with less added toppings, so I was pleased with the simple yet delicious coffee flavor. My husband, who loves sorbet, also enjoyed the unique flavors available. We bought some cheese to take home, including stilton and cheddar. The bakery, deli, and pre-made meringues all looked very appealing. There are tables inside, but you can also sit on benches outside on the square. A must-stop when visiting Dartmoor, or keep an eye out for their ice cream elsewhere. I wish this place was closer to where we live.

So glad that we stopped in and our party of 5 all had double scoops in a variety of flavours. All of them delicious, but I thoroughly recommend the chocolate and honeycomb flavours. Best ice cream I've had in a long time. They also have a fabulous cheese deli counter which we made a mental note to come back to and stock up before leaving the area. Great find in a lovely village.
