Absolutely amazing sausage rolls. Huge and home made tasty. Pork and apple or just pork. Nice and herby and flaky pastry. Came in day before and they had none so ordered for next day so special batch made for us. One of these does for a nicely for lunch with a glass of cider which incidentally they sell as well View all feedback.

What mikesA6279XZ dislikes about The Cider Vat:
We decided to visit this restaurant based on its great reviews. We were impressed with the ambiance and the variety of ciders available. The staff was friendly and accommodating towards our dogs. However, our experience took a turn for the worse when there was a long wait for my wife's latte, which tasted off. The freshly made steak rolls we ordered were disappointing as the meat was chewy and lacked any accompanying... View all feedback.

I met my future life partner at this restaurant for a cup of tea. The ambiance and staff were truly amazing, with great local knowledge and engaging conversation. We enjoyed a lovely short walk through the grounds, despite it being a bit muddy, it was definitely worth it. We sat on a swinging bench with the best company in the world, the place felt peaceful and tranquil, and we felt truly connected to the surroundings. We sampled the ciders and it was great to see the staff taking the time to talk to us, even though they were busy preparing for the pizza and cider evening. We were disappointed to have missed that event, as the staff were very knowledgeable in explaining the different blends. A huge thank you to the staff for making our day so special - we will definitely be returning.

While planning my trip through Devon this year, I realized that I had not reviewed this amazing farm store from last year. The cream tea was delightful (with unique scones that were very tasty), the lady working there was incredibly kind, the store offered a wide selection of fun foods, and the surroundings were charming. I especially enjoy stores located right on the farm! I hope to visit again this year.

A group of us (6 young adults and 2 slightly older! were looking for something to do on a rather damp afternoon, and decided to visit the Cider Vat. Despite the short notice, Alison gave us a very warm welcome and found time to fit in our tour. The 40 minute tour of her craft cider works was brilliant her passion for her family business made it really special. This was followed by cider tasting which included an informative and enjoyable explanation of the stories behind the names of each of the ciders. We ended the tour with a delicious cream tea including homemade scones. Definitely recommend if you have an afternoon spare, we had a great few hours and came home with a lot of bottles of cider from the farm shop!!

Had a great tour today, learnt so much about the art of making a great cider. Loved the tasting after, and purchased a few bottles to take home. Great cream tea to round off our visit.

You'd be a fool to visit Devon and not make a stop at The Cider Vat in Sampford Courtney (nr Okehampton). Fantastic range of local produce, delicious cakes and superb cider made from the apples grown on site. Dogs and children were welcomed, and the service was really second to none. Perfect for those wanting a taste of a real Devonshire farm.
