We decided to dine at the Gessner Steakhouse because it was convenient, as we were staying at the Grand Hyatt in Vail. It ended up being a delightful surprise! Our server, Galo, was exceptional. He recommended dishes that were different from our usual choices, but we took a chance and they turned out to be delicious. Galo was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. We sat outside with a view of the river, which added to the overall enjoyable experience. It was definitely a memorable dining experience.
The steak was not as rare as it should have been. Totally medium rare. Certainly not the best New York I've had. Service was medium to slow. Crab tator tots were a fun combination. Definitely worth trying. The green beans were excellent. The restaurant seems to have a pretty good crew in the back of house. Challenged a bit on the front. I probably would not go again and spend that money. Bummer since I'm a Globalist with Hyatt...
We had a group dinner while at a conference. The staff were very attentive and timed the food delivery perfectly with appetizers, salads, followed by main courses. Food was prepared well and everyone commented on how good their food was. Will definitely come back if we stay here again.
Between drinks, the food and the dessert, it was a pretty penny but a really nice experience as well if you don't eat out often. P.s. they hand you the most expensive/bougie menu first, ask for the bar menu if the expensive menu makes you feel like aforeign alien who suddenly doesn't understand English.
Very disappointing dining experience in Grande Hyatt. Expected much better food in such high end hotel in Vail. Food quality was worse than any other average restaurants. Over and Under salted dishes. Wings too salty and pasta no salt at all. Fishundercooked. Cold inside. Couldn?t even cut through. The source for the fish was too salty. Mediocre Wagyu beef burger. Theonly OK dish was the half chicken.
