we had our date night here and had a very special question, personalize cutlery on the table. the staff has done a perfect work and created a special evening for us to ensure that the best was in the right position and they had a table for us with the perfect view. the dinner was delicious and we had our favorite wine. What Korey Pagac dislikes about Gessner:
This restaurant charges high prices for poor quality food and disorganized service. The menu needs to be revised, as they are trying to serve common dishes with a twist to charge higher prices for basic dishes. But the twist fails and almost ruins it. Then then they charge a fortune for it. So not worth it. Better to cook your own simple food at home, like spaghetti or a hamburger, then go here and get poor quality f... View all feedback.

This was our favorite visit to Gessner. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend to friends.
Great Thanksgiving dinner buffet. many decisions and everything was fresh and tasty. the personal was friendly and professional.
Mother’s Day brunch- regular local here. I first asked the waiter could see if the bartender could make a mocktail because I don’t drink. He said “I’m not sure.” I said I’m sure the bartender can figure something out. He comes back with a mocktail. Was really good but he gave no options before just bringing something. No dessert offered today. He said “I’ll go see what I can do.” He comes back with a dinner menu saying “the kitchen says you can pick off of here.” Why no Mother’s Day dessert options? Went to City Market instead for cupcakes. I went to the front desk to ask for change for the valet. “Let me see. Ok here.” No smile no hospitality at the front desk today either. No greeting whatsoever. I said hello. Best service was from the main valet guy today who took our picture and the host at the restaurant who was very nice. Other than that there needs to be some coaching on how to greet guests and service levels. Service is going downhill here.
Way too expensive for medium food and absent service. I realize it’s shoulder season in Vail but shut the place down if you aren’t going to bother coming to the table.

Was a great experience with great food. Staff were somewhat distracted, but for the most part, the service was good.
The service at this restaurant was excellent, it was the highlight of our dining experience.
We had a group dinner while at a conference. The staff were very attentive and timed the food delivery perfectly with appetizers, salads, followed by main courses. Food was prepared well and everyone commented on how good their food was. Will definitely come back if we stay here again.

Between drinks, the food and the dessert, it was a pretty penny but a really nice experience as well if you don't eat out often. P.s. they hand you the most expensive/bougie menu first, ask for the bar menu if the expensive menu makes you feel like aforeign alien who suddenly doesn't understand English.
Very disappointing dining experience in Grande Hyatt. Expected much better food in such high end hotel in Vail. Food quality was worse than any other average restaurants. Over and Under salted dishes. Wings too salty and pasta no salt at all. Fishundercooked. Cold inside. Couldn?t even cut through. The source for the fish was too salty. Mediocre Wagyu beef burger. Theonly OK dish was the half chicken.
IMO: Never Again! Horrific service. Except for the very attentive bussing staff. Waiter disappeared. Ordered 2 bottles of Stags Leap Artemis the moment we sat down. No wine brought. No explanation. Pound of salt on the steak. Short ribs hard (how is thatpossible? . Apologies only as we got the bill. Total Fail. Avoid at all costs.
The food is outstanding at Gessner's. The restaurant is located in the Grand Hyatt, the restaurant and hotel are both stunningly beautiful. We like dining out in the lobby area after a long day of skiing, highly recommend!
