Food was good but service was mediocre for the value we expected extraordinary,it wasn’t but overall we had a great family time
The staff was so wonderful. They made us feel comfortable and helped make sure we were at a table where our stroller would fit comfortably. Food was great at prices you’d expect in vail. Noise level was perfect for anything from a date to a group get together!
We had our date night here and had a very special question, personalize cutlery on the table. the staff has done a perfect work and created a special evening for us to ensure that the best was in the right position and they had a table for us with the perfect view. the dinner was delicious and we had our favorite wine.
Good was ok, Risotto was hard, uncooked and filet was dry. It’s. A nice restaurant, great wines list but good to pricey .
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! The service was great!
Tucked within the picturesque setting of Vail, Gessner Steakhouse offers a dynamic dining experience that ranges from delightful to disappointing, depending on the occasion. Guests laud the high-quality food and attentive service, particularly highlighting the inviting atmosphere and stunning views. While some entrees impress with their taste and generous portions, others fall short, leading to mixed reviews about the value and creativity of the menu. Special occasions have left some patrons wishing for more inventive offerings and consistent service. Overall, Gessner stands out for its ambiance and attentive staff, making it a memorable choice for both casual dining and special celebrations.

The food is outstanding at Gessner's. The restaurant is located in the Grand Hyatt, the restaurant and hotel are both stunningly beautiful. We like dining out in the lobby area after a long day of skiing, highly recommend!
Our group had an excellent experience! The service was exceptional, and we relished stunning views while enjoying delicious French toast and poached eggs. The hot chocolate was a delightful addition as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I had a quite disappointing dining experience at the Grand Hyatt. Considering the hotel's upscale reputation in Vail, I anticipated much better food. Sadly, the quality was below that of an average restaurant. The dishes suffered from inconsistent seasoning; the wings were too salty, while the pasta was completely lacking in salt. The fish was undercooked and cold, making it difficult to cut. To make matters worse, the sauce for the fish was also excessively salty. The Wagyu beef burger was only mediocre. The only dish that was reasonably good was the half chicken.
Between drinks, the food and the dessert, it was a pretty penny but a really nice experience as well if you don't eat out often. P.s. they hand you the most expensive/bougie menu first, ask for the bar menu if the expensive menu makes you feel like a foreign alien who suddenly doesn't understand English.
Located inside the Grand Hyatt, we were greeted warmly and ushered to our seats. From the time our waiter Travis introduced himself the service and experience exquisite. He was informative and friendly and made awesome recommendations. The food came out absolutely delicious. From the squash salad , Pretzels bread , Lemon Thyme Chicken with lentils and butternut squash to the cherry tart with cream cheese ice. Just amazing. ????????????????????????????????????????Thank you Travis for the amazing service . ??????????????

We decided to dine at the Gessner Steakhouse because it was convenient, as we were staying at the Grand Hyatt in Vail. It ended up being a delightful surprise! Our server, Galo, was exceptional. He recommended dishes that were different from our usual choices, but we took a chance and they turned out to be delicious. Galo was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. We sat outside with a view of the river, which added to the overall enjoyable experience. It was definitely a memorable dining experience.
The steak was not as rare as it should have been. Totally medium rare. Certainly not the best New York I've had. Service was medium to slow. Crab tator tots were a fun combination. Definitely worth trying. The green beans were excellent. The restaurant seems to have a pretty good crew in the back of house. Challenged a bit on the front. I probably would not go again and spend that money. Bummer since I'm a Globalist with Hyatt...
We had a group dinner while at a conference. The staff were very attentive and timed the food delivery perfectly with appetizers, salads, followed by main courses. Food was prepared well and everyone commented on how good their food was. Will definitely come back if we stay here again.
We had a wonderful experience catching up with friends at our hotel. We were able to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious! Our server, Martine, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
Fantastic chef! The food was delicious and the service outstanding.
