Tiptop - Thomas
Tiptop
Description
Nestled in a trendy area, this restaurant has garnered mixed reviews. While some patrons rave about the delicious coffee, excellent pastries, and welcoming staff, others express discontent over high prices and a sense of exclusion based on the clientele’s fashion standards. Service inconsistencies, such as incorrect orders and a lack of warmth from counter staff, have left some diners feeling unwelcome. Although the cozy ambiance and variety of drinks draw in families and locals, the absence of adequate seating options has frustrated visitors. Overall, while the menu shows promise, the experience could benefit from greater attention to customer service and atmosphere.

TipTop has moved just one block from its previous location and now occupies a charming two-room space with seating at tables and a ledge that allows for a lovely view through the front windows. The coffee remains excellent, and the decor highlights local and fascinating artwork. Since my last visit to the former site, the menu has grown to include a variety of drinks and specialty snacks focused on healthy and organic options, including several hemp products. The baked goods we tried from the glass display at the coffee bar were delightful, with choices available for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan diets. Our favorite was the gluten-free raspberry shortbread.
It's a charming little café with a warm and inviting atmosphere. My wife and I had cappuccinos, and they were truly delightful! I can't wait to visit again and again. I highly recommend this place!
I absolutely loved the wide variety of food and drink options this place offers. As someone with food intolerances, it was a refreshing experience. I will definitely be coming back!
An amazing discovery! They have fantastic coffee, delicious pastries, and a variety of other foods.
Absolutely incredible! This place is one of the standout gems in Thomas, WV. *Update* The store has relocated down the street and has a slightly different vibe now. It's still a fantastic spot to visit. They’ve removed the bar to concentrate more on their coffee and other offerings. The new location has a more modern feel. However, seating remains somewhat limited—comfortable seating for about 16 to 20 people. The staff continues to be friendly and welcoming. While prices are somewhat high, you don’t come to a place like this expecting to spend less. Definitely worth a visit!
