Kokee - Springfield
Kokee
Description
Kokee Tea at Springfield Mall offers a mixed experience for bubble tea enthusiasts. While some patrons appreciate the quick service, many express disappointment with the quality of their drinks, often finding them too milky or missing essential toppings like boba. Interaction with staff has also been a concern, with reports of unprofessional behavior despite inquiries about drink preparations. However, the mochi donuts stand out as a highlight, particularly the taro flavor, praised for its light, fluffy texture and balanced sweetness. Overall, while Kokee Tea can satisfy last-minute cravings, it may not be worth a special trip for most.

I used to visit frequently several years ago and the drinks were great, but lately, the quality has declined. I echo what many other reviewers have said about the Thai Tea; it tasted very watered down and just wasn't good overall. If Thai milk tea is your favorite boba drink, I recommend skipping it here.
I've been here twice, and both times were disappointing. I ordered a Dalgona latte with 50% sweetness, but it tasted like a cup of coffee doused in brown sugar syrup. I also tried the coffee milk tea, which was less sweet but still just as bad. This is one of the worst boba places I've ever experienced.
My brown sugar black milk tea was served very quickly, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of the experience. The drink looked and tasted like it was 99% milk and only 1% tea. I don't know if they used those exact proportions or if the tea was steeped for only a fraction of a second, but it was overwhelmingly milky. When I tried to explain this to the employee or manager, he insisted that it was made correctly. As a connoisseur and former ABG, I can confidently say that it was undrinkable. I’m going to have to go home and add an espresso shot just to make it bearable, as it felt more like a cup of warm milk than anything else. I felt like I was getting boba from a chain restaurant like Noodles & Company.
I usually stop by Kokee Tea whenever I visit Springfield Mall and I haven't had major issues with my drinks until today. I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Honey Boba and realized after mixing and finally drinking it in my car that there was no boba. I'm extremely disappointed especially since I paid a little extra for the boba topping. The drink itself tastes good but would've been better if it included the boba that I paid extra for. Even though the drinks were made quickly and I didn't have to wait long, I would rather wait longer and have my order made correctly instead of having them quickly make my drink but miss an essential ingredient.
Whenever we go to Springfield Mall, I'm always tempted to stop at Kokee for a tea, but this time I was intrigued by the mochi donuts! It was late in the day, so they only had a couple of flavors left. Fortunately, they had one taro donut left, so I grabbed it. So glad I did! It was delightful. The donut was not dense at all, but rather on the light and fluffy side (compared to regular mochi ...great soft, slightly chewy and light texture. The taro glaze was delicious, not overly sweet, and just the right amount so as not to overwhelm the more delicate mochi flavors. I was very impressed, and now even considering going back to buy a box of six next time to share with my coworkers :
