**Dining at 9 Pad Thai: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** 9 Pad Thai presents a unique experience, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine. Many patrons rave about standout dishes like the Basil Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles, praising the excellent service and inviting atmosphere. However, a notable number of diners express disappointment with consistency, highlighting issues like undercooked or overly salty dishes and incomplete orders. Despite these setbacks, loyal customers maintain their enthusiasm for the restaurant, appreciating the generous portions and reasonable prices. With a combination of hit-or-miss food quality and commendable service, 9 Pad Thai remains a place worth trying for adventurous eaters.

Innovative Thai dishes that are well prepared and served by helpful staff. Good for dine-in or take out, although there can be a wait for takeout. If you're not familiar with Thai food, they have a picture menu available that let's you see what dishes looklike. If you're still unsure, try the 9 pad Thai, the house signature dish. You won't be disappointed. If you're moreadventurous, try the fried watercress salad. It is like nothing you're every had before. It is delicious both without and withthe dressing. My only complaint here is that they charge for extra rice. Considering the prices of the dishes, they couldinclude one extra serving of rice without charge.

I ordered a medium spicy drunken noodles with beef and a fried tofu appetizer from 9 Pad Thai for a total of $21.09. The noodles had just the right amount of spice for my taste, and the beef was quite good. I appreciated that the noodles came in a metal container, which is a better option compared to the polystyrene foam container for the tofu (there's definitely room for improvement here). Unfortunately, the tofu was quite bland, and the sauce didn't enhance its flavor. My order was ready for pickup on time. I would definitely order the drunken noodles with beef again, but I would skip the tofu.

I picked up two lunch specials on my way from Springfield to DC earlier today and thoroughly enjoyed my meal from 9 Pad Thai. I ordered the regular Pad Thai with chicken (and, apparently, pork) as well as the Panang Curry with chicken and rice. Both came with spring rolls and had enough in the portion to leave leftovers of each plate. I ordered online which was an easy process and the order was ready for pickup within 15 minutes. The Pad Thai was among the best Pad Thai's I've had in the DMV/DC area; the sauce was tangy and sweet, the onions were perfectly cooked, and there were enough onions/veggies to provide an excellent contrast to the egg, pork, and chicken. I didn't know that the dish would include barbecue pork so if you don't eat pork, make sure to specify that this should be omitted. This dish was easily a 5/5 and a definite highlight of the meal. The Panang Curry was not as good as the Pad Thai and I'd rate it a 4/5. If I had ordered more than the mild spice level, I think the dish would have had a better overall flavor profile. My main criticism was just that the flavor wasn't very strong. Also, there were two bell peppers for garnish when I believe there should have been more than that. Everything was cooked well though and there was quite a lot of chicken. I definitely plan to order from here again next time I'm in the area!

I ordered Pad Thai which should be a straightforward dish for any Thai restaurant. It was served in an inedible state. It tasted overwhelmingly of undercooked fish sauce. It was so strong I didn't even want the plate near me because of the smell. I did try and eat it to see if the taste was better but it wasn't. The shrimp were slightly over cooked but the flavor was horrible. The egg was overcooked and rubbery. The noodles seemed to be cooked ok but I couldn't get past the horrendous flavor. Service was acceptable but it was clear the waitress spoke English as a second language and didn't know the menu fully.
