I was disappointed that I couldn't get the curry I had been craving.

Myself and some colleagues are sta... read more What can I say but totally vile. I feel totally sorry for the serving staff as they are obviously embarrassed by the kitchen. Myself and some colleagues are staying at the hotel ,as in the hospital industry myself I do try and understand. It took an hour for the starters to arrive , mmm not great , then when the mains arrived , that is when the true extent of the lack of experience in the Kitchen , prawns raw in the pasta, cold mash potato , well done steak , arrived rare , side dishes arrived 20 mins after dishes served and 1 did not get their sausage and mash for a further 30 mins ,congealed gravy ... lovely . The duty manager looked stressed and close to tears, offered us a complimentary pudding but we did not want to risk it!! We all had a drink and deciding whether we should order a dominos !! This a lovely hotel but needs to sort its dining out pronto as after a long day you just want to chill and have a good meal.

I usually don't have high expectations for hotel restaurants, so I was pleasantly surprised by the upscale quality of the food (delicious and well presented). The service was quick, the decor was lovely, and the house wine was excellent. Our waitress, Jordan, was especially attentive and friendly - I applaud her service.

So after a period... read more I stopped at this hotel quite regularly but moved elsewhere as I found the food simply awful. A shame because I quite like the accommodation. So after a period of absence I chose to return only to find the quality of the food has got even worse!! It’s quite simply garbage. God knows who is employed in the kitchen but it ain’t a chef that’s for sure. I will either move hotel again or buy a takeaway and bring it in from now on.

Even though it was very busy (a football game was on at the adjacent Sheffield United ground) the staff were extremely organised and maintained a cheerful and helpful manner. We had fish and chips which were beautifully presented. The fish had very light amounts of batter and lovely fleshy tasty fish. We hadn't eaten this for years but really enjoyed it. The meal was delicious and a very reasonable price an experience made even better by the quality of the staff.
