A very nice family restaurant in Saskatoon, great food and affordable prices. We came 4 adults and a 2 year young one. The menu covers all 3 generations, the service was fast and very helpful. We will absolutely come again, to this friendly place. View all feedback.
What Muyiwa Sulaimon doesn't like about The Cave:
We have visited this restaurant for many years! Majority of the time we really enjoy our meals however there are times the food is definitely sub par. We really like the orzo soup, shrimp dinner, prime rib and fettuccine. We have tried several different cuts of steak from here and they were all disgusting, my dog would not have eaten them!Mixed specialty drinks are way too sugary and not well made, you are best off o... From the huge 'stone' CAVE sign outside, to the babbling brook and wooden walkway to begin your culinary spelunking adventure, this establishment has been enticing diners for decades to enjoy the unique décor. Once seated in your personal cavern, you'll find that the menu and cuisine will always please you.Our server, Christin, was very welcoming, and although very busy for a Monday evening, we never had to wait long to have her attention. As an appetizer, we ordered the calamari to share, along with a bottle of Valpolicella, bringing our final bill to the $$$ range (for Saskatoon). My shrimp meal was excellent, just enough spice and tang. My friend's 7oz New York steak dinner was so plentiful with the trimmings that he could not finish everything, as was the case with the third order, a choice of lasagna and meat sauce. Food serving size is plentiful. Sadly, this does not leave much room for dessert but, then, we'll just have to return soon for another visit.
We went here with a very large group of people including some young children. The servers were excellent and very attentive, and making sure they attended to all our needs. There was not one complained of the food or service, and we have nothing bad to say. We will return.
We had considered this place for a couple of years but were concerned bout some of the reviews. Decided to go anyways as we thought the grandkids would like it. They did and so did the rest of us. Food was good. Service exceptional. I would definitely recommend this place based on our experience. We went on a weeknight and it wasn't busy
It didn't start out great to be honest I literally had to go through the restaurant to get someone to seat us, and we had reservations. But the rest of the experience was great. The restaurant is actually set up like a cave with coves and different sections, so they actually give you a map of the restaurants entire layout. The theme is somewhat "flintstones" as the children's menu is Bambam's eats but besides the names there is nothing cartoony about it. They even had an entire wall that was full of greenery, rocks and a small waterfall. The food was pretty good and they serve a bit of everything. The prices are comparable to red lobster. But the experience is truly one of a kind. On a side note there are some windows/ skylights and dimmed lighting so it's not claustrophobic like an actual cave can be.
Yesterday I ordered the Greek Style Pork Strips (might have been Cave Style), either way I pictured nice strips if pork with the awesome seasoning as is on the ribs. Greatly disappointed when I received boneless breaded pieces of pork. The lovely Rose (our server) offered to get me something else but my sister already had her food so I didn't want her eating by herself. On the up side, my pasta was excellent as was the cutlet my sister had. Can't beat the ambience.
