Maybe it's me that I'm not wild about local Québécois cuisine, but I think Recto Verso tries too hard. My wife ani with another couple had a weekend supper there. We eachhad a two or three course meal w coffee. There were three very good dishes: a carrot soup, an Arctic Char substitute for the listed fish, and two desserts - Creme brûlée and a multiple chocolate dish. Three mains and two appetizers were average at best. For example, my lamb, pulled lamb on too many onions, an over salted sauce, topped by a very fatty small chop (two good bites) was unfinishable.Go for a simpler, more delicious menu, Recto Verso!Service also was unsatisfactory: good knowledge and very personable, but we waited too long on every element.

By the end of the meal, we were very satisfied. The flavors in each dish were unlike anything we had tried before. It was a wonderful dining experience. We visited on a Sunday in January and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. This place must be a hidden gem, as the food and atmosphere were both exceptional.
