Was User at The Rock a mag?
Dined here with friends and only because we couldn't get into Steamed which was fully booked. We were pretty happy in the end as the food was delicious especially the salt and pepper calamari and the saganaki and our waitress was so friendly and helpful offering to add different toppings to our pizza. Would highly recommend The Rock. View all feedback.

What User dislikes about The Rock:
I Ate at the rock this evening with my husband. When I called to book I enquired whether or not they catered for gluten free which I was informed they do, on arrival I asked our waitress which meals on the menu were gluten free, she was very vague, told me two items she thought were and walked off. Attractive setting opposite the busy beach . Very busy so we waited for a table but it was worth it. Pizzas that we had were not huge but very nice .Very buzzy place.

The Rock by the Bay is one of very many restaurants in Rye along the coast of the Mornington Peninsula. We tried different things on the menu but would definitely recommend the Mussels in a broth of wine tomatoes and various spices, like a bit of chili. It was without question the best Mussels I ever had in a delicious broth. Actually it would be nice to have the recipe. The oysters were served a bit strange as the dozen were served in six shell, that is on top of another. The gummy shark I leave to others to eat.The highlight was the mussels.

This restaurant review may sound cliché, but I don't even know where to begin! Can you believe that a group of surfer guys all ordered espresso martinis together?

This restaurant is fantastic. It's a bit off the beaten path from the Great Ocean Road, but you can find it in Jan Juc. It's always open and definitely worth a visit.
