It has a restricted menu which covers the broa... read more Don't let its name deceive you. This is a Chinese restaurant and it offers delicious and affordable Chinese food. It has a restricted menu which covers the broad range of Chinese food. In doing so it maintains a very high standard for its different dishes. I enjoyed a sizzling seafood combination for $28.80 whilst my wife opted for the sweet and sour combination for $22.80. We both commented on the freshness of the vegetables and the distinctive flavours the chef had managed to maintain in the dishes. As for comfort, the restaurant is a little Spartan, however, the food certainly makes up for this. The volume of take away meals being prepared also testifies to the popularity of this restaurant with locals.

We are holidaying in Rye at the moment and after spending the afternoon at the Peninsula Hot Springs we were looking for a good feed..We saw Paul Louey advertis... read more We are holidaying in Rye at the moment and after spending the afternoon at the Peninsula Hot Springs we were looking for a good feed..We saw Paul Louey advertised at the Whitecliffs Beach Resort where we are staying and gave it a try.Quite busy but the service was good and they kept the water jug filled which is important . Our meal soon arrived and we enjoyed each dish.The spring rolls were a nice entree followed by chicken curry , and a lovely blackbean conbinathion , Add to that some rice and a great meal was had by All.Definitely worth a try.

When we arrived the place was ver... read more Some friends asked us out for dinner and suggested we go to Paul Louey. Not having been before I was looking forward to going. When we arrived the place was very busy which I thought was a good sign.We were seated straight away and the service was friendly and quick. The food too was very tasty. A couple of negatives however:My wine was served in a glass that was cracked and chipped.The food portions were very small and not enough for a meal especially considering that the price of each main was $22 . We also ordered 1 special fried rice to share and had to ration this so we had enough. Both my wife and I got home and made a sandwhich as we were both still hungry.Normally I would have said something but didn't want to embarrass our friends who recommended this place.Overall it was a good night but very poor value for money.

We highly recommend trying the BBQ pork.
