In this day and age, when words “New” and “Cutting Edge “ are the norm and the #everythingsdifferent is the gold standard, it’s nice to re visit somewhere that has stayed the same. Everything was the same, in completely the best way. The greeting we got at the door was in the same friendly, cheerful way. The food was to the same excellent standard. Our favourites were still on the menu. The serving staff that looked after us Kat and Tracey kept up the friendly and polite service in the same friendly and familiar fashion that we had come to know and love about the place. They were there when we needed them and checked up on us throughout the meal. In a world that rushing on way too fast, it’s nice just to be able to relax and take time out in lovely surroundings and be looked after by staff who know and love their job. The Gamston Lock has taken to heart the proverb “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I can’t help but think that the world needs more places like this. Definitely going to be going back again. We had lunch and dinner at the pub all was very tasty and the staff were really friendly and helpful with directions to get to the city ground. Very enjoyable stay.
