Very disappointing Sunday Lunch! Overpriced and underwhelming . My family I waited along time about 50 minutes, had to prompt the waitress for our food, not particularly busy , I’ve been to a lot busier pubs around the country and been served quicker . It came cold and tasteless . Tiny roast potatoes (cold) sirloin of beef cold , gravy tasteless , cauliflower cheese awful . We usually feel nice driving home after a meal out . We felt sick . We’ll probably not return for food again . Definitely not award winning .
Staff are super rude, the supervisor sat on the end of the bar on her phone while we waited to be served and emily was so abrasive with us, food was cold, don’t recommend!
We just had a great lunch time stop at the Wheatsheaf. Food is always excellent, they now have Woodford’s Beers too. Service is always great.
I had a meal here on Saturday 28th February. There were 4 of us booked for 6.30pm which we chose especially early as not so busy we thought would be a quicker service as we had plans later in the evening to meet up with friends. The starters disappointedly warm after some time waiting . We had to prompt for main meal actually wasn’t brought to our table until 8.pm 90 mins after we had been shown to our table. The fish was lovely but the chips awful, minted crushed peas awful, the chicken burger dry the beef overpriced for what is was. On being asked by waitress if everything was ok I said no not really I was offered different chips. In honesty we just wanted to get out of there. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend or return for a meal
