Feedback
Guests praise The Rancliffe Arms for friendly staff, strong carvery and theme nights, but note inconsistent veg cooking, some small portions and limited non-alcoholic drinks.
The Rancliffe Arms is simply the best pub for miles and miles. The food is delicious and beautiful. The menu more than enough variety to choose from. My dad is a carnivore and I’m vegetarian and the staff and chef couldn’t have been more helpful ax we ordered. The wine is lovely too and dad enjoyed the beer/shandy. I don’t bother writing reviews but this pub is so gorgeous I had to write and no!, I’m not related to anyone to do with pub. It’s just lovely.
I had an excellent dinner at this restaurant last night. The service was good, the food was delicious and served hot, and the portions were large. I will definitely be coming back.
It's been a while since we visited and we were a little disappointed. On a positive the staff were friendly and polite. Unfortunately the place seems tired. We were served tea in a chipped cup. The sofa we sat on was ripped and worn. The curtains were coming apart and there was mold on the wallpaper. £4 for a few chips did seem a bit much.
When booking couldn't order online.Emailed, but no reply.I phoned after a week and staff member told me were not very good at replying to emails.Pkease don't get complacent with your customers they keep you going.Yhe cask ale wasnt good condition on last visit and staff are not trained properly to look for customers wanting another drink etc.
Decided to try the Sunday carvery, we were very surprised by how many dishes there was to accompany the meat, 4 meat on offer and over 8 vegetable dishes, my favourite was the leek and cheese bake. Every single item on our plate was beautiful. It was very relaxed where we were sat. Waiting staff were lovely, Would sefinately recommend and would definitely visit again.

More information
The Rancliffe Arms often uses its bar as a lively overflow space on sold-out nights and runs regular theme evenings that locals time their visits around. Also, steaks are sometimes presented on very hot plates for theatre — if you have a preference, ask the kitchen when booking.
