Omakase in Astoria offers a varied dining experience, from fresh and delicious sushi to bland ramen. While the price may not always justify the quality, the restaurant is praised for its fresh ingredients and overall fantastic food. With a cozy atmosphere and attentive service, diners can enjoy a wide range of sushi options and hand rolls. The omakase experience stands out, offering exquisite fish and an opportunity to engage with the skilled chef. Whether trying the Big Mac handroll or indulging in toro and uni nigiri, Omakase promises a memorable meal for sushi enthusiasts looking for high quality fare.
The price is reasonable considering the food and service you have. We’ll definitely come back again.
I must say, the ingredients at this restaurant are incredibly fresh. The portion sizes may be lacking, but the overall quality of the food preparation is fantastic. However, the price is not justified and the service could use some serious improvement. If cost is not a concern and you are looking for some of the freshest sushi in the area, then it may be worth a try.
Amazing experience with chief Alex, the Omakase is phenomenal and a journey with each roll he places in front of you. Highly recommend from someone who spent time in Japan and want an authentic experience.
Good food (except the pre-made clearly old California roll that came in the dinner bento) but TERRIBLE service. We were the only people there and the waitress forgot and messed up our order. Not just that, but she was on a phone call the ENTIRE time WHILE she was “attending” us. She demanded a tip and forcefully wrote $10 over where we left it at $0. So would not recommend. I’m confused by all the good reviews ngl. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
A hidden gem in Long Island City! Sake Kawa is a rare find — an omakase experience that truly delivers both quality and value. The fish is incredibly fresh, the presentation is stunning, and each course feels thoughtfully curated. It’s clear the chef takes pride in every detail. The space itself is cozy and intimate, making it perfect for a special night out without the Manhattan price tag. Definitely one of LIC’s best-kept secrets. Don’t sleep on this spot — it’s absolutely worth money! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
