I had already ate here in other occasions and the food was pleasant, fresh and tasty, the waitresses always provided good customer service and the restaurant itself it’s aesthetically pleasing, spacious and clean. This past Sunday night however, I was extremely disappointed with the food I was served; pechuga empanizada breaded chicken) to begin with the chicken portion has been shrunken to half, it was locking freshness and taste, the rice was not fresh at all; some pieces were hard to chew and others felt like old rice, the beans were okay and the fries did not feel fresh or crunchy. Additionally I ordered maduros with melted cheese on the side and they were extremely burnt, not soft and not sweet, as of the cheese it did not feel melted rather stiff. Could have been a change in the chef or the quality of the food but I left feeling very disappointed with what I paid.
Honestly don’t know what to say. This place is amazing. Used to get it all the time when I lived in Astoria. Now I live in New Jersey. Drove here just for the elote. The arepas are incredible. Build your own. You won’t regret it.
The food was yummy, the drinks were mid but plentiful, my server was on her phone at some key moments, and good luck getting her attention. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30
“La Mejor Noche de Mi Vida – GRADUATION LEGENDARY STATUS ” Si no estuviste en mi fiesta de graduación en La Vecina (Astoria, NY)… lo siento por ti. This wasn’t just a party—it was a whole cinematic universe powered by reggaetón, tequila, and pure joyful chaos. The lights hit just right, the music was flowing, and my people? Looking like the Met Gala had a baby with a bachata video. An explosion of sabor that had everyone licking their fingers and asking “¿QUIÉN COCINÓ ESTO DIOS MÍO?” A dancefloor where zapatos were sacrificed and reputations were born. And yo… I was the MAIN CHARACTER. I celebrated not just a degree—but every late night, every struggle, and every damn win. Patricia fue la mejor.
