The special monkfish was amazing!!! My partner had the fish and chips and loved that too! I can't wait to come back soon

My p... read more I went to the restaurant with my partner and found the service to be fantastic from our server, Hope, and the manager who was wearing a shirt with glasses. My partner enjoyed a delicious burger while I found the fish dish to be excellent. The only thing missing was the mushy peas that I love to have with my fish. Despite that, overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience and will definitely be returning soon.

Having had 2 previously awful experiences we thought we'd give this a last chance and only because yhe sun was shining and the beer garden is the perfect venue! Having joked that we'd just get pizza's and beers as what could possibly go wrong... how wrong we were. Firstly we ordered 4 kids pizza's (charged just over £60) which arrived literally black on the bottom! We then ordered some more for us adults (one was complimentary due to the others being burnt) . Not all of our order turned up. Staff were miserable. Tables were not cleared of old plates or glasses when they eventually brought the rest of the order the girl serving didn't have anywhere to put them due to empties and still didn't think to take them away until asked by us ... it's basic training surely! Family pn the table next to us had also had issues with their food so the dad was then eating by himself having got a replacement meal. On leaving there were 4 people waiting at the bar for refunds. Just awful such a shame as it is a great venue but needs serious work in both the kitchen and staff attitudes.

We both had the... read more Great place for a drink and catch up (if not a bit pricy). We drink here quite often but don’t usually eat so decided to have a meal this time. We both had the special, mine a chicken and chorizo pie which was beautiful, very filling. My husband had the special pizza which was also beautiful. Staff are always really friendly,

Lovely waitress advised us of wait and apologised-was nice to be kept informed of this-excellent service! Clean table and seats next to fire-menu extensive, clean and professional looking. Meals we ordered were lovely: chorizo scotch egg was massive and tasty and the porchetta outstanding (veg could have been hotter but everything else amazing) The chocolate cheesecake was delicious also and just the correct portion size. We love cheese and biscuits and maybe this could be introduced as a ‘special’. All round great experience. Well done!
