Caffe Prego - Ogunquit
Caffe Prego
Description
Caffe Prego in Ogunquit offers a vibrant atmosphere with a diverse menu, but experiences vary significantly. Diners often rave about the gelato and standout dishes like lobster and shrimp pasta, with some praising the Margherita Bianca pizza as truly authentic. However, inconsistencies in food preparation surfaces, with pizzas lacking flavor and some small plates falling short. Customer service issues have been noted, with lengthy waits and inattentive staff hindering the overall experience. While the ambiance and location are appealing, the range of flavors and service quality need refinement to ensure a satisfying visit for all diners.

Great pizza at a fair price. Good drinks and good service. Nice outdoor patio even if it was raining.
It has been quite a few years since I was here but I remember the Gelato being pretty good. So we tried to get some Gelato and a drinks and we were rudely told unless you get a meal you cannot dine, but have to go to the patio and eat there. Ok, we'll comply though we saw other people with just drinks at tables. Anyways we were mostly looking good for good gelato. I got the maple and my wife chocolate. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was THE WORST gelato I have ever had. Yes, we're spoiled with good gelato from Italy and a very special place in Portland Maine but this was down right awful. It tasted like I was eating raw dough with a couple walnuts. My wife's had ice chunks in it. Horrible and not worth ever ever going back for.
Stopped in after a long walk along the coast, a total must-see by the way! The cafe staff were friendly and quick to sit us down and serve us which was a huge plus. Some of the food we ordered, however, lacked a little bit of flavor. The margarita pizza tasted a bit bland which was a let down, my boyfriends panini was pretty okay, he had the Saltimbocca panini.
We love this place. Maybe one of the best Ogunquit restaurants. Gelato bar is great too.
Situated in the heart of Ogunquit, this lively orange-hued restaurant serves delicious food at affordable prices. During our visit, the bright sun made it a bit challenging to read the orange awning and menu. If you’re a fan of thin crust pizza, you’ll enjoy their tasty crust. The fresh basil really enhanced the flavor, and the balance of sauce to cheese was perfect, leaving me completely satisfied. On the downside, the pasta salad portion was disappointing—by far the smallest I've encountered, featuring just five pieces of pasta along with a few peas and olives.
