This place is nice, but a bit odd. From the outside I didn't not expect a diner on the inside but that's exactly what it is. From the decor to the counter seating to the tiny glasses of juice to the staff 100% a diner. The food was tasty (we had nachos and 2 salads) and happy hour was a plus. What was strange about the salads is that they were piled high on these long, oval plates which didn't serve well to cut/mix/eat the salad. Otherwise, the staff was friendly (if not a bit old school) and the restaurant was clean.
Nothing else in the area was open the day after thanksgiving. Food was ok. Service was very good. The waitress was honest that the corned beef was from a can. Doesn't warrant a visit from Guy Fieri. You shouldn't go out of your way either.
Wow, where does one begin? The waitress instructing people they 'd be better off going down the street? The waitress who said I 'm not sure who you see for a table ? Or perhaps the bland crude offerings they call food? Greek omelette god awful salty and toast, Un toasted. Blueberry pancakes made with canned blueberry, devoid of flavor. Burner coffee anyone? Oh, and the wait staff busses tables as well, so service is an atrocity. Zero stars is more fitting, but Yelp won 't allow. This is how dire the circumstance we have free breakfast vouchers from our B&B I 'll be buying breakfast the remainder of our stay. Avoid at all costs.
This is a great local spot!! We had an incredible server, Shelby, that took care of us. They are doing all the covid precautions and we felt very safe dining here. The food was awesome! I got the Mariner's lobster Benedict and my husband got the corn beef hash. Both were very filling and we left satisfied. We also got mimosas which were so refreshing after walking here. Highly recommend stopping into this cute spot!
So, it was New Year's Day. A busy morning for brunch anywhere. I had heard great things about Bessie's during dinner and thought to try it for breakfast. We arrived and had to wait and bit. They were short staffed which delayed seating. Then waiting to order. They lost track of who they sat when and where. So people were getting to order before us. The staff did show up and took our order. She was very pleasant and apologized for the delay. It was unfortunate that they were short staffed because they would have raked it in. So now the positive. The staff was very pleasant and attentive as they could be for a crazy day. We ordered our food and despite the earlier delay were surprise on how fast it arrived to our table. It was a impressive presentation and the taste. Well just as impressive. The hash was incredible and the eggs were cooked to order. All in all, could not ask for a better way to start the day and year.
