Upon arriving at 2:30 pm, I was worried when another group... read more We have been to this pub several times and decided to make a reservation for Sunday lunch at 2:30 pm. Upon arriving at 2:30 pm, I was worried when another group at the bar mentioned they had booked a table but were told they could sit anywhere. When I went to the bar for another drink at 3:00 pm, I found that the carvery was closed. I inquired why and was told they had run out of vegetables and potatoes, but could make some mashed potatoes instead. It seems like amateurs are running what could be a decent establishment. I will not be returning.

I ordered a ham and mustard baguette and Mrs D chose the prawn cocktail. My baguette was delicious; lots of proper ham and plenty of mustard in a lovely fresh baguette. Mrs D's prawn cocktail was enormous and came on a bed of fresh lettuce. She couldn't manage it all so I had to help out. It was very tasty!

On both occasions, I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. I will definitely be returning in the future.
