Was mikezhivago at Scoffs a mag?
Looked up on trip advisor for evening meal and found Scoffs . Nice clean entrance and sanitizer in place . Ordered fish chips for two and awaited delivery to a separate table . Just 5 minutes later they were ready for us to takeaway. Friendly goodbye from the owner . Got back to our room to enjoy really fresh fish and crunchy delicious chips . Just lovely and those chips were just something else , thanks . View all feedback.

What NATBET dislikes about Scoffs:
It said Yorkshire Fish and Chips on the door and would you believe it they where brilliant. Home made mushy peas, Haddock skin on, brilliant chips, pot of tea and the staff where excellent service with a very big smile. I don’t know what they cook the chips in, but they are too die for !We’ll be back. View all feedback.

An excellent experience. The fish and chips were delicious, the service was amazing and the decor is lovely. A truly great place to eat.

I haven't eaten in the shop, so cannot comment on that, however this is the best Fish and Chips i have ever tasted, and as a resident of Barnstaple is the only Fish and Chip shop i now use. In my opinion it is the creme de la creme of Chip shops. Very polite and friendly staff, lovely hot fresh food and nice and clean premises. Whenever we have anyone stay, a visit to scoffs is always on the agenda.

This restaurant is super friendly and the food delicious! I had scampi chips and salad while my husband had salt and pepper squid chips and salad..proper Yorkshire chips cooked to perfection, not greasy stick to the roof of your mouth but crispy moreish chips and I'm not usually a chip lover ! Will definitely go again when im next in the area...to the owners...Will let you know if I suss out the recipe and have success

This chippy is very unique compared to others. It used to be a bank on the high street! The staff are kind and attentive, and the food is excellent - the fish and chips were delicious. They even gave us a free pot of tea because they only had one small haddock available.

The restaurant had a friendly, efficient, and attentive service staff. The restaurant and toilet facilities were spotlessly clean, bright, modern, and airy. The food was delicious, especially the chicken nuggets made with large chunks of chicken breast in a tasty batter. I would highly recommend trying them. I am looking forward to our next visit.
