I haven't eaten in the shop, so cannot comment on that, however this is the best Fish and Chips i have ever tasted, and as a resident of Barnstaple is the only... read more I haven't eaten in the shop, so cannot comment on that, however this is the best Fish and Chips i have ever tasted, and as a resident of Barnstaple is the only Fish and Chip shop i now use. In my opinion it is the creme de la creme of Chip shops. Very polite and friendly staff, lovely hot fresh food and nice and clean premises. Whenever we have anyone stay, a visit to scoffs is always on the agenda.

I had scampi chips and salad while my husband had salt and pepper squid chips and salad..proper Yorkshire chips cooked to perfection, not greasy stick to the roof of your mouth but crispy moreish chips and I'm not usually a chip lover ! Will definitely go again when im next in the area...to the owners...Will let you know if I suss out the recipe and have success

Very friendly staff, they recognize my parents who get the usual when they visit. fish and chips were delicious. the chips are unusual, not greasy and with a li... read more Very friendly staff, they recognize my parents who get the usual when they visit. fish and chips were delicious. the chips are unusual, not greasy and with a little crunchy to the outside. several tables to eat if necessary. the place was also very clean and bright. portioning that we have a good size too. note that they are only cash, no credit cards. highly recommended.
