We stayed in the original historic part of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful private bathroom. The restaurant had delicious food... read more We stayed in the original historic part of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful private bathroom. The restaurant had delicious food and great service. The saloon was fun with great food and beverage choices. The bartenders were all professional and fun. The hotel is in the middle of main street and is walking distance to numerous wine tasting rooms and restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

This historic hotel was such a disappointing stay. The rooms are not modern, the remodeled bathroom has a hole in the wall for the door handle, the paint was so... read more This historic hotel was such a disappointing stay. The rooms are not modern, the remodeled bathroom has a hole in the wall for the door handle, the paint was so sloppy and had weird patch work that was unpainted and there was no full length mirror in the room. The bed was so uncomfortable and the sheets were the lowest quality. The room was also so loud from simple movement from the room above. You can hear the guests on the second floor as clear as day, we didn’t sleep at all. The price was outrageous for a motel and we were charged for a “special event” during Memorial Day weekend with no notice. The desk closes at 8pm so you can’t check in after 8pm without hunting someone down in the bar or in our case a night maintenance guy we had to find in the back of the kitchen when we arrived. The front desk staff was unfriendly and no help at all when approached about the noise with a response of “yeah, it’s an old building.” The food was beyond underwhelming, the “free” coffee in the morning was barely warm at best. We received nothing short of rude welcome by the front desk staff and the most overpaid room I’ve ever stayed in for a basic motel 8 experience. I would never stay here or recommend it to anyone.Murphys is a cute town, amazing wine tasting rooms and great people but DO NOT STAY HERE!
