A he... read more This little garden restaurant is nestled right against the English Gardens. It is a nice place to get a drink and a bite after walking through the gardens. A hedge surrounds the dining area, giving it a cosy feel. They have English menus, and the...wait staff are friendly. The pretzels on the table are fresh, and the main dishes are typical. They warn you that it takes awhile for them to prepare the warm food, so settle in with a beer and enjoy a well deserved break.

We were welcomed warmly and the meal and the service were good. The food is traditional Bavarian/Austrian, so substantial in content and portion sizes. The...venison casserole was excellent and there is a good selection of beers and wines. It is next to the English Garden, a huge park which starts in the centre of Munich and stretches for (nearly miles). Good value though the prices looked high when I researched it at home, in the context of German prices they aren't bad!

My entree, Butter Schnitzel, was the best schnitzel I have ever had. Our waiter was...terrific and spot on with his timing. As is customary in Germany, you have the table for as long as you like, and we were there for a few hours. Much better value than downtown, with entree prices ranging from to Euro. Located near the north end of the English Garden, it was an easy minute walk from the underground train station. Lovely neighborhood to walk through.
