Great food. Staff is almost always eager to please. I would and will happily take my family back there to enjoy the food and atmosphere.
Restaurant should change the name to "Paolo's" because of the wonderful Paolo who is the star ⭐️ Great Italian atmosphere, super cosy place, very good food, super business lunches, fantastic pizza ???? and pasta ???? place Enjoyable from every corner Love it!
We had a fantastic lunch at Alta Marea! Very first thing you get is an authentic and heartwarming greeting when you walk in through the door, making you feel welcomed at this lovely Italian restaurant. Definitely worth taking the detour from the larger streets when around the university and the English Gardens. For lunch the restaurant had three differently priced two course menu options to choose from, and I as a fish-eater chose the one with fish. For starters a creamy soup was served and keeping it simple, the fish was perfect. The red mullet was nicely cooked and served with potatoes and ratatouille, portion large enough serve the appetite of a hungry traveller but yet small enough to leave room for the tiramisu which was delightful. The staff at the restaurant seemed all Italian, atmosphere had the genuine Mediterranean feeling without the clichés of these "Italian" chain restaurants and last but not least, I was addressed in English despite having visited the restaurant with a German friend. This is something to cherish in Munich and definitely results me visiting this place again if I return the city.
I've been more often in Alta Marea. It is a classic Italian with very good food, courtesy service, traditional interior and a small outdoor garden. All recommended!
