Sunset Grill was a major disappointment; we had heard such good things and the other reviews were mostly positive. A “two star” rating is generous as I really thought about a “one star” rating. We took the complimentary shuttle which was handy. We had a bit of a wait but figured that was par for the course. When we were seated, we were seated at a table in the corner with a view of other diners not the sunset view we expected should have said no to the table but didn’t want to rock the boat.We noted the building is falling down around them. The pergola slats are bowing and look like a hazard to the people seated below. Also, the paint scheme is really dated if they are going for the “just like it was built look” they nailed it but come on it is 2023 and it’s time to update the building. Our server was new to the business and it was obvious she had not been trained on how to wait tables, clear tables of salads after the salad course, etc. Nice young lady not her fault poor training. The food was mediocre at best. The salad had almost no dressing on it but my trout was really flavorful. The rice was plain rice nothing more than plain rice not much flavor in plain rice. The asparagus was tasty but nothing special. The Shrimp Crab pasta dish had the smallest amount of crab in it I have ever seen for the price. Kinda like the chicken chunks in a can of Campbell’s Cream of Chicken soup you really have to look for them. One to the things that really stood out to me was that two tables in the restaurant had white table cloths and the rest were bare wood I guess some people rate better service than others at Sunset GrillOne other observation is that the place is way understaffed I know, everyone is understaffed, but if you can’t support the load, cut back on how many people you seat for dinner so those you do seat get good service. So, in conclusion. Don’t Go! Sunset Grill failed to meet minimum expectations let alone deserve all of those great reviews. Maybe in it’s prime it was really good but if that is the case, that time has passed. I’ll say it again Don’t Go! Eat somewhere else, you’ll thank me.

This place has real Moab history, it also has a wonderful atmosphere whether you sit inside or outside the views are fantastic. The outdoor seating areas are truly like no other place we've been recently. The staff is very inviting and took great care of us. We will definitely be going back next trip.

Having dinner at the Sunset Grill is a must-do when in Moab. They aren’t kidding when they say there is a view from every table. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, the salmon, and a NY Strip. The main course came with some of the best fresh bread we have ever had and a fresh side salad. The mojitos were wonderful also and had very fresh mint. The only downfall to the meal was the steak didn’t have very much flavor, however, we could be biased towards Nebraska beef. We will recommend this place to anyone visiting Moab!

The service was exceptional, and the panoramic view of Moab is simply stunning. They serve fresh seafood and mouthwatering steaks. We were fortunate to witness the sunset while savoring our meal, and every seat in the restaurant offers a fantastic view of the city. Their selection of wine, beer, and spirits is also outstanding. Moreover, the restaurant boasts a rich history, complete with a captivating backstory about its founder.

The views are spectacular and the ambiance is lovely. The drive to the restaurant is fun and complements the nearby attractions perfectly. We discovered that you can park at the bottom and take a shuttle up, which is a convenient option. We were pleased to be seated quickly, despite the large crowds. However, we were disappointed that it took over an hour for our food to arrive. On the positive side, 90% of the dishes we ordered were delicious. We were puzzled by the children's meal, which had an overwhelming amount of raw garlic that seemed too intense for a child's palate — or really anyone's, to be honest. The New York steak and the salmon were both delicious. We enjoyed our dinner, although we ended up staying much longer than we had planned. It also seemed like the restaurant was a bit short-staffed, as our waiter was trying to juggle serving everyone while we waited a long time for our food.
