Mary Ellen Hotel - MEREWETHER

This is a happening pub to be in, the staff are wonderful, the food is awesome and the beer is cold....what else is there.Well worth a visit...one of the best huge variety on the menu and well presented on the plate.Our only complaint is the noise level can be a bit much at times for a quiet conversation, but that is only a minor thing and the pub has no control over that.

When getting your car washed behind table 1 espresso and are told that the coffee machine is off an hour before closing, cross the road to the Mary Ellen hotel where staff will make you a coffee regardless of whether the bistro is open or closed. Thank you Mary Ellen.

Really great meals and definitely value for money. There Chicken Schnitzel dishes are yummo. Steaks are really good and desserts yummo too.

I had dinner at the Mary Ellen Hotel on a Friday night while in Newcastle recently on business. The food and service was great despite staff being run off their feet because it was so busy.

We booked the restaurant for 51 people on a Saturday night. The tables were all ready on arrival, ordering the food was easy, (maybe a little slow in the queue), but the food came out quickly and all 51 loved it, and the choice of 27 beers on tap was not to shabby either. I would go back if I was in the area again.
