The dishes were inedible, and th... read more The atmosphere is great and the setting is fantastic, but unfortunately, the food is among the worst you can find in Newcastle. The dishes were inedible, and the service was terrible. To make matters worse, we saw the kitchen staff eating directly off customers' plates before serving them. I would have expected that taste testing would lead to food that was actually enjoyable. If we could give zero stars, we absolutely would.

Fantastic beers but t... read more I am super quick to criticize local restaurants and bars that don't support local, but today we stumbled into #modusbrewery in Merewether. Fantastic beers but the highlight was a Hunter dominant wine list with a good spread of mid range and top shelf. The best local Newie wine list by far and no surprise that the place is full. Food also excellent and lightning quick. If you build it, they will come. Hats off.
