What Mallory Roob dislikes about The Premises:
Yesterday we had a breakfast Business Meeting here for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. Good location close to the local railway station , good coffee, good quality reasonably priced food (my baked eggs were excellent) with excellent service. My only slight criticism is the chairs are quite uncomfortable. View all feedback.
Went for breakfast after finished busy set of night shifts - great staff, very attentive (made sure we had plenty of coffees and water) and had good knowledge of the menu.I ordered pretty much at random from the specials board as it all sounded good and ended up with a beautiful scrambled eggs on sourdough with a delicious, crisp rocket and radish chilli salad, chorizo and tzatziki. A perfect pick me up and besides being an interesting change to the generic breakfast fare of so many Melbourne cafes it was absolutely perfectly executed. Will definitely be back
Found this quirky looking cafe with two of my colleagues and ordered coffee and breakfast which consisted of fruit toast and a BBQ bacon egg roll for my colleagues and I ordered he Bircher muesli with yoghurt, berries and almond flakes. The service was good and quite quick. The coffee arrived and mmmm it was some blend which didn't really taste that nice. My colleagues BBQ bacon roll according to him was very nice my other colleagues fruit toast according to him was a bit average. My Bircher muesli was well weird. The berries were nice the yoghurt was tasty but it was not muesli it was more like a stodgy porridge. Not sure what it was but sadly it was not very nice. If your going to advertise muesli on your menu please ensure it is muesli not something that I can only describe as bonding filler.
The Premises is now a firm institution in the cool inner Melbourne suburb of Kensington. The staff are professional and attentive. The food is normally set seasonally, with amazing specials peppered during the week. The coffee is amazing, and the food made with love. The hot salt beef roll is my favourite - something homely, inventive and tasty all at the same time - swiss cheese, pickled cabbage, beef and hot English mustard. This is the cafe that continually strives ahead, setting the pace for cafes/restaurants in the village of Kensington.
Really nice cafe. Coffee came quickly and food was delicious. Would visit again! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The Premises ️Melbourne’s Hidden Gem Absolutely loved my visit to The Premises in Melbourne! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. The space is cozy yet lively, perfect for brunch dates, solo coffee time, or catching up with friends. I tried their brunch menu and everything was spot on! The eggs were cooked to perfection, the sourdough was beautifully crisp, and the flavours just danced together on the plate . You can really tell they care about ingredients and presentation. Their coffee? Next level. Bold, smooth, and honestly one of the best cups I’ve had in Melbourne. Baristas here know their craft and serve it with a smile Service was friendly and fast, it feels like one of those rare places that gets everything just right. The attention to detail, the chilled-out atmosphere, and of course, the amazing food make it a must-visit Whether you’re a local or visiting Melbourne, The Premises deserves a spot on your foodie list.
