Located in a somewhat hidden location, Pretty Mama offers a unique Jamaican dining experience in Melbourne. The restaurant is praised for its excellent food, friendly and attentive staff, and great atmosphere. Diners can enjoy a variety of Jamaican dishes, such as jerk chicken and red stripe curry mussels, all prepared to perfection. The shared plates option is recommended to try a variety of flavors. Cocktails are a hit, especially the rum-based ones. It can be difficult to locate this restaurant unless it's on one of the routes from your Airbnb rental through the maze of new apartment buildings. We noticed it on our way back from dinner last night and decided to have a meal here tonight. We enjoyed Jamaican 'tapas' by choosing four small dishes to share, along with some beers. Every dish was delicious, with the mussels standing out as especially good. The staff was efficient, friendly, and attentive. I would highly recommend dining here.

We waited for 75 minutes for a slider and drank two bottles of wine at Mama Really! Then left feeling hungry and frustrated due to understaffing, plus Adele was playing. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

While strolling along Watertank Way, we decided to revisit Pretty Mama bar after the Swans V St Kilda Game last weekend and partake in the Happy Hour offerings. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious dishes we tried - the Whitebait, Sliders, and Jerk Chicken were all fantastic and simply divine. It was our first time trying Caribbean cuisine and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We also indulged in Red Stripe Beers and a lovely sparkling wine. To top off the night, we savored some banana doughnuts with rum cream, which was a delightful dessert. The staff were friendly and we had a pleasant conversation with the bartender and waitress (apologies for not remembering your names). Overall, it was a delightful experience at a wonderful bar, although it's unfortunate to hear that it may be closing due to lack of business. Such a shame.

Great atmosphere- tucked away was perfect combination - great food and friendly service. You can sit at the bar and chat to the chefs as they cook or have your own table. Definitely recommend the jerk chicken! First time with Jamaican cuisine and can't wait to go back!
